Maybe only 1/4th of my CS classes involved programming projects outside of the introductory courses, and in those courses the programming aspects were just to test what you learned more than anything. You were expected to learn how to program on your own time.
it's easy to abort the shut down, just run "shutdown -a". (The shut down only occurs when the user is connected to the Internet.)
The best way to fix it would be to connect to the Internet, abort any pending shutdown, then download the removal tool. You'll have to reboot after downloading, because the reason you needed to shut down was the worm killed some system process which you will need to run the removal tool as well. Once the machine comes back up, make sure you are not connected to the Internet (i.e. unplug your ethernet cable). Then proceed to run the removal tool.
Of course, most users won't be able to figure out how to get it to not shutdown, or have never seen the windows shutdown message before and assume that that is an actual part of the virus, and therefore find themselves helpless and will pay upwards of $60 for someone else to fix it for them.
It's easy to confuse self-awareness with instinct and habit. Especially since you have a special connection to your pets and want them to personify them.
Native (or whatever the politically correct term is)
American Indian, or Indian is quite acceptable, and often used by Indians themselves (American Indian helps to distinguish from the people of India). However; it is not an acceptable term for Aluets, Inuits, Nunavuts, etc; however.
The argument I've heard in response to that centers around the word "kind" used in the Bible. Here is a response to your question from somehow who probably thought about it a lot longer than I did.
I'm not saying I think that's how it happened, I'm just providing you with an alternate point of view.
We could spend days listing reasons why the ark as described in the story could never have existed.
Yet you provide not one single reason.
Lesson: Don't pick apart other people's comments when all you provide in return is a troll and even less information or reasoning than the original poster.
Of course, the interesting thing is not that you found a real big boat, but where you found it: several thousand feet above sea level. It would be difficult to come up with another explanation at that point.
So if I come up with some great idea, what is my motivation to share it with someone who can make it into something? Since I can't patent my idea, I have nothing to gain, and therefore short of some great sense of obligation to humanity why should I share my idea?
The point of patents is that they give an incentive to invent by giving the inventor a time-limited monopoly on their idea. If there is no incentive to invent, why bother?

I dunno... you tend to feel louder high pitched sounds in your ears, whereas the lower ones you might feel more in your body.
The low sounds you can't "hear" are probably outside of your range of hearing. This is why you feel them instead. Sort of like a deaf person. They can feel the vibrations from music, but they can't hear the music.
I think I broke my own record for replies to my comment in 30 minutes or whatever. I feel so special.
To those of you without a clue getting all upset about this should look back to the 1996 elections...
IT WAS A JOKE!
Although the IRS is a cesspool of inefficiency, they're in the same boat as a lot of airports with their traffic control systems. They work right now, and they can't go for long without them working. So the cost and risk of upgrading is too high, and the only alternative is to live with what we have until the payoff for the upgrade outweights the cost considerably.
I think it's similar to the decline in television watching. Video games, the Internet, computers, TV, music, etc. are all fighting for our time; music and TV are losing their larger share they once had. (Although many ppl do multiple of these activities at one time, less people are watching TV and listening to music and instead doing other things.)
The people that founded the US were not terrorists in the sense that these people are. They didn't go to England and kill thousands of citizens in order to scare the English into leaving them alone. It was also very well known who they were, as they acted quite publicly with their intentions, and even sent a nice note to England lining out their complaints and putting their names on the bottom.
Terrorists target civilians, remain anonymous as often as possible, and their goal is often annihilation rather than separation.

goto does still have its uses, mostly in error handling.
Scripting languages for various programs are the beginner languages today.

Except stuff like the Great Flood, etc.
That's 1, let's hear some more...

The small percentage of the world that are atheist or agnostic
About 14%.
Sea level has never been that high since humans have been around.
Of course, the interesting thing is not that you found a real big boat, but where you found it: several thousand feet above sea level. It would be difficult to come up with another explanation at that point.
Finding a boat at that altitude would raise some significant questions as to how it got there.
Patents are generally good for 20 years from the date of application, and are for ideas, methods, etc.
Copyrights are different, and apply to the original expression of an idea.
That's the simplest way to put it anyway.

If he patented it a long time ago then the patent would have expired by now.

Good luck getting that changed anytime soon.

So you're saying it reduce corporate and special interest influence in congress?
How exactly is that a bad thing?

What percentage of our income taxes paid in the US goes towards collecting those same taxes?
How much could be saved by moving to a flat tax and getting rid of all the exemptions and deductions and tax-breaks?
Income: xxxxxx
x 0.20
Tax owed: xxx
You could fire 99% of the IRS employees and get the operating budget to that of a Taco Bell.

The post you replied to never said "everyone," and didn't seem to imply that either.
