  1. Something I'd like to see... on High Speed Audio Cassette to MP3 Conversion? · · Score: 1

Is a cassette deck for my PC. Just pop a tape in and there it is - like a CD. I, too, have material on tape I'd like to port to CD/MP3 but there isn't a decent hardware solution available. Any takers out there?

Since I am a relative newbie at work (5 years) the number of days I can take as vacation AND save from year to year are few. I work during the holiday in order to 'spend' more later. We don't have to take a holiday for Christmas or New Years (when we are closed) if we work both sides of the holiday.

I always get a kick out of these stories about robots being used on other planets. Anyone have a NASA link of these things being tried in some of our (Earth) extreme environment? Also, why don't we do these robot things on the moon first before we spend a billion or so going a few miles down the road?

After the 3rd or 4th book his style became like "Family Circus" and "Peanuts" to me. Predictible and common. I don't think I'll invest in his book (even though the government has asked us to keep the economy going). I think I'll buy a multi-pack of snickers instead....

I started out on PCs, moved to network support (DEC Pathworks), moved to NT and LAN Manager, moved to Novell, moved to Unix. In each case I still used what I learned before, be it methods or still needed to support it. What helped me move from position to position was the desire and the proven ability to pick things up and do something with them. All of the interviews I have been on and all of the ones I have given were more focused on experience and track record of continuing education/training. Sell yourself into the postion - even if you don't know 100% of the stuff they are asking for.

  12. Desperate Measures: George W. Bush & Abortion on The Full Nader Plus a Taste of Bush and Gore · · Score: 1

Editor's note: Apparently, the source of this story was due to go public this week via publisher Larry Flynt, but found out that Flynt was planning to make a tabloid sale, and changed her mind. Like George W. Bush's intervention in commuting the sentence of serial killer Henry Lee Lucas, this is a story that is circulating in the press packs, but that few people want to touch at the eleventh hour of the 2000 U.S. presidential election.

In the winter of 1971 George W. Bush was dating a woman named Robin Lowman (now Robin Garner). Miss Lowman became pregnant by the virile George W. and he arranged for her to have an abortion - which in the great state of Texas in 1971 was very illegal! Not to mention that George W. is running as a pro life candidate for the presidency.

The unnamed source of this story, was a friend of Robin Lowman's and the girlfriend of the man who arranged the abortion. His name is Robert Carl Chandler. Mr. Chandler is a Bush friend and supporter from way back and he made the arrangements for Miss Lowman's abortion at the Twelve Oaks Hospital in Houston, TX (now the Bayou City Medical Center). The source of the story overheard the telephone call by Mr. Chandler to arrange the abortion and she visited Robin Lowman at the Twelve Oaks Hospital after the procedure.

The source meanwhile, is afraid of coming forward, saying that she was threatened by Mr. Robert Chandler and by another Bush friend and supporter named Jim Bath. Mr. Jim Bath has longstanding intelligence connections, and played a role in the BCCI scandal. Robin Lowman (now Garner) is married to Jerry Lee Garner who is an FBI agent.

So, that's the story: an illegal back room abortion arranged by the Republican party Presidential candidate who is running on a pro-life ticket.
