    Bah, BSD's arnt really any harder then Slackware.
    A bit differnt, so you might get a little confused for a wee bit, but with a little help from docs and mabye some internet places you get the hang of it real quick.

    Try OpenBSD, its got the best security in the business. Thats what i use =P

    Just takes a bit of learning. I learned OpenBSD perfectly from Linux in about two days (with some help from EFnet#OpenBSD).

    If its a pain in the ass maybe you should concidering reading some of the documentation.

    As some person pointed out to be once, KDE IS NOT A WINDOW MANAGER. kwm is a window manager, if you actually knew anything about software you would have noticed that its easily possible and very effecitive to replace kwm with WindowMaker and still have the complete (in fact improved) KDE thing going on.

    Anyway, WindowMaker is not dated, it as good gnome support, KDE suppost and ol(v)wm support.

    Those 1 inch bars you are refering to are resizable.

    I have used all those products..
    i hated Applix... StarOffice is pretty good IMO... i just hate that Win32 clone interface...

    WordPerfect8 is the shit if you ask me...
    the free edition needs goddam fonts though.
