You've got to wonder..what would an ape ask for if he got the ability to alter his genetic structure? Bigger muscles, and longer fangs! He wouldn't ask for an upright posture, larger forebrain, and Natalie Portman.
I was taking a look at the "high payback" mp3 artists...and look what I found in "First Contact's" page.. "I'm planning to buy a lot of equipment for the money I have earned from mp3.com, but the music I will make then shall not appear on internet, but on a real album so look for it in the stores for about a year from now!" Huh. And he was one of the highest payed people on MP3.com. maybe it doesn't work.
Here's one: How can Napster, or WebPD tell if a person is legitimately downloading a metallica song they already own the cd too, or violating copyright? They aren't going to go to each house of the 335,000 and ask to see their CD collections...
Actually, a friend of mine was on a rifle team. He was also incredibly good at it. The part that gets me, is that a local newspaper did an article on him (this being after columbine, and the Canadian Red Deer incident), and the very first sentence in the article was "He could shoot someones head off from 200 yards away" It's reporting like this that will screw us over in the long run.
I don't think you really understood what he was talking about. Things are changing...The Internet is different then the guy selling the bumper stickers, because anyone can go and download the bumper sticker in PDF format.;) The thing that gets me, is that if I had blueprints for a new product on my computer, and it was stolen, the cops probably wouldn't do anything. If I printed it off, and it was stolen, they would. What is the difference between the two? And is the Internet an extension of thought? or is it something solid? Can it have laws? or is it going to be an extension of our minds? We have to decide on one or the other. The really depressing thing about Napster and all those MP3 sharing programs, is that being an artist will no longer be a viable employment, as there won't be money in it. But what can I say, I have 1gb worth of MP3's on my comp.;)
I'm sure you can play mp3's with a bitrate like that...but you'll only be able to fit 2-3 MP3's on there. The thing about that springboard module is that it uses it's own MMC memory cards to store MP3's....Hooray, more addons. When will mobile devices get enough memory to put my 486 to shame?
