What happens when it's no longer popular and the devs lose interest. Microsoft are highly unlikely to kill one of their very profitable areas especially now that the ability to leave them has never been easier.

The government also enacted the extremely unIslamic gay marriage law last year, so if the Muslims are taking over our country and imposing whatever on us then where are they?

It could be, however it quite often isn't. It would be much better to have one cable to the exchange that any provider can use to provide the service.
