Some friend of mine had a kid two years ago and what I gave him for his first birthday was a photo album (paper photos), with some texts in between, and also a mini CD-ROM with a text an a video (the "Wear suncream video") and the PortableApps version of VLC. I'm pretty sure in a couple of years he will be able to use it.
I don't understand why this is modded as Funny. I totally agree with you, what you've said it's insightful.
I as an Argentinian, alas Spanish-speaker, I usually even use the opening exclamation and interrogation marks in my sentences. How much could this slow me down? One second? Kudos for you man, you're doing right.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm not even sure that Cryptonomicon is the first one, but for sure it was previous to this one!
