Sega are about to release a bundle of old Genesis/MD games for the Dreamcast. I guess there may be a way to run these new Sega CD ones on the DC, unless people still have a Sega CD gathering dust somewhere.
OK, I can't think of any companies that do specialise in this, but it does occur to me that many tech books do come with an HTML version on CD. Would it be unreasonable to pipe the text through a speech output engine, creating something similar to your requirements?
And Conker's BFD is a normal Nintendo product? Nintendo seem to be rethinking some of their strategies, and Miyamoto did say he though Samba De Amigo one of the best games he has ever played, perhaps there is more mutual respect there than previously thought?
And one of the big ones to think about is the PS2, which I'm betting is going to be the DVD player in most homes all over the globe.
I don't think this will be the case in Europe, considering Sony seem to think you would want to watch a DVD through a coaxial cable, having cunningly disabled the SCART output, supposedly to defeat piracy. Why bother with a PS2 as DVD player if the picture quality isn't much better than a VHS tape?
I'm not criticising the banner ads, but I find it curious that a text only search inserts graphical banner ads into the page. I guess it snoops for the user agent, and if your user agent can display an image it will. I'm not dissing banner ads, as I tend to ignore them anyway.
With av, I have no need to know the top three generic boy bands, or be able to apply for a mortgage, I just need an input box, a search button and somewhere to display the results.
It wasn't called the bomb, rather it was the bombe. Can't help with the entymology(sp?), though.
Even more OT question. Anyone know of an online entymology(sp?) resource?

No. If its made as a movie, it will likely be rewritten to state that the Americans busted the culprit, and there was no British involvment. After all, it wasn't the British that bust the code in the first place, was it Hollywood?
What does it mean for the future of Mozilla?
Will it continue along as an open source project, without Netscape's engineers, or will work move on to a new version of Moz and Netscape?
A binary digit of Pi is zero? What a surprise.
I'll predict that of the next quadrillion binary digits, approx. 50% will be zero, and approx. 50% will be one.
Right, where's my slashdot story?

Aren't you thinking of Horace goes Skiing? Sounds like it...
Yes! I had a Spider Fighter patch. I think I have lost it now. And I don't have the patch either...
He's going to throw them at his enemies.
could someone explain the happy ending to me? I've never seen it, only the apocalyptic version.
Also Ted Nelson's book Dream Machines/Computer Lib and hyperlinks to xanadu & udanax might be appropriate.

Could't Intel argue they will be using 50% less power in 18 months or so?

Alternatively, use the text only version. It still has banner ads, though.

There is some interesting stuff here. I don't know if it's what you're talking about, but worthwhile looking at nonetheless.

I think you might be paraphrasing from the guide. Life... has a preface that is similar, IIRC.
