Agreed. Im more afraid of US citizens than terrorists. I hear gun shots and have my car broken into every so often in my neighborhood. Then theres the hobo's everywhere that you never know if they will try to mug you. The police will never respond in time for a crisis and it was ruled fairly recently in court that police have no responsibility to protect you, only to investigate crimes. Meanwhile, people bitch about our right to own guns which essentially protects against this sort of thing. Yep. America is full of a bunch of wusses that want their government to do everything short of wipe their asses for them.
The only reason that wouldn't hold up in court is that people would say there are alternatives to owning an Iphone. I.e. android, blackberry, or windows phones.
Its quite a bit different. China is attempting to control the internet, most likely for use as propaganda and as leverage in a cyber conflict. The DHS is being used by special interest groups to enforce IP law.
Its not racism, its probable cause. If a name pops up that happens to have some overlap with terrorist affiliations or they have a felony for a violent offense it gives probable even if the name is Arabic or not. You have to be realistic about who is causing the crimes and terrorist acts otherwise you risk depriving everyone of their liberties. Im not advocating taking every single felon, Muslim or Arabic person aside, however if someone has a felony for a violent offense or is know to have been routed through Yemen and be a radical Muslim sympathizer that is probable cause for a scan or pat-down. Scanning millions of people that have absolutely no criminal record and in many cases no physical capability to cause significant damage to an airplane is a direct violation of our 4th Amendment rights. The TSA and DHS is treating average citizens like criminals. We are just a hair short of being a full out police state and if you pay attention to history it never works out well for the citizens and their liberties.
My dog doesn't eat shit. He wont even poop near an area that has too much shit in it. He always looks for a fresh patch of ground to take a dump. On the other hand, he does like smelling other poop. This is because the anal gland in dogs identifies them to each other by its scent. Some of the stuff from the anal gland comes out on the poop. Dogs can tell which other dogs have been around by smelling their shit. I suspect my dog tries to find a spot to crap that is clear so his scent doesn't get confused, however obviously he does this without actually rationalizing it, but then again, he will tip toe around areas too saturated with poop to try not to step on it. Eating it I guess is another story.
It breaks my heart to hear that story. I understand the benefits of animal experimentation, but hearing about a dog being stuck in a cage all day getting experiments done on it or a rat that behaves that way having experiments done on it makes me ill.
That only means they are introverted, but they are just as social. Now, I may not consider myself to be the smartest cookie but I am considered by many to be smarter than them because I am good at math (Im a PhD student). I simply do not like most people so I prefer not to meet them if I see their behavior as being any subset of categories of human behavior I dislike. Perhaps I am too judgmental, but whenever I have given people a second chance I still usually end up disliking them. After a while you learn that some people you simply wont get along with and avoid getting to know them. From their perspective you are a loner or anti-social but from yours you simply think they are an idiot, or a jerk, or a fake, or superficial, ect. ect. Whenever I get into a group of my tight-knit friends we go wild, we talk about anything or everything and we will engage other people if we are at the bar or something. Nobody would know that we aren't social people.
This argument isnt really applicable. Dogs and cats are not the same species. Dogs are uniquely evolved to understand human gestures and behaviors. They can learn quicker than Cats if taught. For example, I taught my dog 5 tricks in one day. It took another to really cement them, but he learns quicker than any cat I ever had. In fact, the last cat I had only concerned itself with tearing up my furniture and could not be punished (even squirting water at it) short of beating it (which I did not do). Cats probably have a more independent style of smarts for problem solving without the aid of other animals. This is not considered intelligent compared to humans since we have both the capacity to learn and apply knowledge independently as well as socially. If you define intelligence as an ability to learn and apply knowledge in a social setting dogs win.
Apparently you have never owned a West Highland Terrier. There are dogs which are specifically bred to be rodent killers. I think cats are probably better at general rodent and pest killing simply through agility, however a dog is more persistent for things like gophers or musk rats in a field or near a pond and probably has a higher kill ratio in that setting whereas a cat will just give up and go after a bird or go back to the barn to hunt for smaller rodents. People always claim that cats are more intelligent because they don't follow orders, but that also makes them less useful for specific tasks. Cats probably serve their purpose best just in a place where you store grain or other food. No matter what task you want in a farming or herding setting there is a dog breed that can do it.
It depends on the level. If you cannot read my original post you are simply too anal anyway and Id rather you not read anything I write and cease bothering me with trivialities.
I don't disagree with the white collar crime problem. That's not just white people. That is Americans. Jews, Italians, Anglo-Saxons, even Black People. Hell, I have little respect for most MBA or Finance majors, as they all have some weird sense of entitlement from their degrees. Like they should get paid to capitalize on other people's efforts. In fact, many rich kids around here pay other people to do their essays and help them otherwise cheat. Most modern business majors also have no concept of sustainable profits and wealth creation. They just snipe wealth from other sectors of the market without actually producing anything. Im just saying, the Chinese are bleeding us dry with their completely unfair tactics. They want to participate in a Capitalist market but refuse to play by the rules. Its the other asshats (white collar people) that made our dependency so damn high on them. Short term profits, no long term sustainability.
I have met more honest and hard working Indians than Chinese. Most of them are very intelligent transplants to the University system and major in sciences or medical fields. There are so few Americans in these fields these days because Americans only care about getting the easiest degree they can that they believe will pay them to do nothing (Like MBAs). Not to mention they don't do any one of the things you mentioned. I don't hate Chinese people, I don't hate any one race or culture. Its either a extremely strange coincidence that the majority of Chinese I have met have been dirt bags, or more often than not they have contempt for the western world and its rules. The fact you call racism whenever someone notices a pattern amongst another race is a double standard. The Chinese people are showing racism towards us with their contempt for us. I hate even calling differences in people "races" as we are all the same species with minor variations. However, culturally at least, the Chinese people I have met try to participate in a system they choose to not follow the rules thereof. This goes for Capitalism as well as the University system.
I have never met nor heard of a more dishonest group than Chinese. They cheat in all of my classes and get away with it because most of us do not speak Chinese. My professors have caught a couple different groups of them copying eachothers work on several occasions. Homework and tests that is. Pair this with how often you hear lies and obfuscation of truth from their ruling class, and how often Chinese manufacturers come over here and steal American ideas at trade shows (as happened to my father) or through corporate espionage, and how often they totally ignore international copyright laws, and how they actually manipulate financial markets like pegging their money to ours to gain an unfair advantage. I don't think all Chinese are bad, but their actions are certainly shady. I think they probably are more honest and fair when amongst their own people but they show contempt for the rest of us.
I assumed that would be the only reason to mention it. You must be from the UK. I would have been corrected to "color" in grade school. Spelling is something one typically concerns themselves with when writing papers after one reviews their draft. Its not necessarily something one would care about in casual discourse, at least in my part of the US. I would not call it damning in general of US university education, as they do not teach spelling. It certainly is damning of lower education. An example of that is I the fact that I was never taught formal grammar in grade school or highschool. I had to learn it myself from the science fiction books I read. Some people can still pick that up in what I write (like my wife who is a grammar nazi).
That my friend is called an "Ad hominem fallacy". Failing to spell a word does not make my argument invalid, nor does it make me an idiot. I can spell more accurately than 95 percent of the US population, however there are a few words I seem to always screw up. Such as seperate, colour (I spell it British for some reason), and apparently well-fare.
I thought they used to have way more stuff on other leaks. I think something is happening thats a bit strange. Either I am an idiot and can't figure out how to view the other submissions, or Wikileaks is participating in either A) getting paid off to not show the rest or B) attention whoring.
Well, there aren't any conspiracies on the level of illuminati or "reptilians" or the Trilateral Commission. But there are self serving, corrupt politicians that work together in a shrouded way to line their coffers, which by definition is a conspiracy.
Example : Haliburton and Iraq contracts. Guess who was affiliated and owned stock in them?
Another Example: Back Propagation Scanners in Airports (Soros did own, and Chertoff owns stakes in the company that makes 'em).
Another Example : Goldman Sachs, Need I say more?
Another Example : Chemical pollutants produced by Dow, Union Carbide, Monsanto, ect. (They knew chemical exposure caused deaths and illness for 20 years since the 1970's in workers but bought off politicians and covered up research information so they could keep producing them).
You cannot blame people for acting in their own self interest, but government is supposed to protect the rights of citizens, and that includes not wasting our tax dollars on get rich quick schemes.
What I like about them is how governments are getting so pissed off. Its about time someone exposes how corrupt, self-serving and unethical government officials are.
Unfortunately our social programs help out non-citizens and people who refuse to work. I make beans as a Research Assistant and I have a masters degree. I make so little (about half of the poverty line for one person), I should qualify for well-fare and food stamps but apparently I don't qualify because of student loans (which by definition I must pay back). I even have my tuition paid for, but I cannot afford rent or food or transportation without loans (which once again, is not income).
Similar to having a function that maps from N dimensions to M dimensions where M is strictly less than N. You end up with a family of solutions for particular outputs.

I have no doubt 1-3 and 5-7 happened, but the 4th one is sort of tinfoil-hat-ish.
Both are bad, but neither excuses the other.

You must be a pedophile. (Im joking in an attempt at agreeing with you)

Its not in their interest to tell the real story. If one thing can be learned from history, its that corporations will not regulate themselves.

Im suprised no-one is mentioning Terra Nova : Strike Force Centauri. That game ruled. Also, Shadow Warrior.
