    I have a paper.

I charge for subscriptions, but it really doesn't cover the cost of printing and delivery. I get most of my revenue for Ads.

The more people that read my paper, the more people want to advertise with me and the more I can charge.

Then came this internet thingy. I can put my paper on line and now people throughout the world will see my content and my ads.

Put these mean people are linking directly to my news stories so they don't see the front page. I don't know why, but that pisses me off.

So I'm going to start charging people to see my Ads on the interweb thingy. That'll show them.

Actually, this is the flip side of something we all currently live with today, your Credit Rating.

Three different businesses act as an Angie's List for businesses. While the data they collect is much more limited, it can have they same devastating affect on an individual as this (Dietz) has experienced.

Also, businesses frequently make mistakes that take a substantial effort to correct and some have deliberately placed false information in a person's file.

Lastly, even if information in the file is correct, it can often mis-characterize your ability to pay your debts, which is the purpose of the credit file in the first place. Suppose you have an unexpected medical expense and you have to pay $1000 for a procedure to avoid seriously medical consequences...like dying. So you make the payment and also skip making your credit card payment or mortgage payment.

Now, it's next month, you can catch up on both, but what's in your file now? A missed payment, which can reduce your score by 50 points and make you ineligible for many things.

Dietz wouldn't hesitate for a second to ding the credit of someone that stiffed him for a payment. So the bottom line for him and any business that believe they are injured by Yelp or Angie's list reviews...Suck it!

Would a pot dealer in Chicago get an extra 5 years on his sentence just because the police found a unloaded gun in the back of a drawer somewhere when the raided him like in the UK?

Maybe not in Chicago because the Pot dealer is often a police officer.

There are states that had a mandatory sentencing laws along the lines of "use a gun, go to jail", like California before it descended into whatever you'd call it now. But the Dems have been able to repeal many of those laws under the guise of reducing prison crowding, etc. Most often, plea deals are made in an effort to secure "conviction " rates. So instead of working hard to put someone away for 10 years for using a gun in an armed robbery, it's a few years and probation.

They want to raise taxes on the "rich" by 1.6 trillion over 10 years. That's about 180 billion a year.

The deficit is well over a trillion a year, but let's just say it's only $1 trillion. That leaves $820 billion left to make up with cuts.

This whole argument over taxing the rich is a waste of time and a distraction. I say let the raise it to where they want and then insist that Obama cuts $840 billion a year.

If he doesn't then, we are just rearranging the deck chairs on that well known ship.

Ask them if they support nuclear energy. As nuclear is the ONLY technology capable of replacing base load generation capacity (Gas and Coal) and is carbon free, if they are serious about AGW and the need to reduce carbon, then they will say yes. If they are a person in a position of power, you should even see that they have taken some kind of concrete steps towards more nuclear power.

If, on the other hand, they come back with a bunch of claptrap about Green this and that and talk about reductions in energy usage, then be suspicious. And if they even mention "social justice" or fairness, run away; because they are actually a wacko-environmentalist who would rather us all live in caves (after a suitable population reduction program) and scratch the dirt for food in order to save the earth from the ravages of mankind. You know... these people

Except for them of course. They'll live in a very large home that consumes more power than several normal homes and call it Green.
