    1.They have little long term vision, but are instead obsessed with making the goals for the next reporting period.

    2. The "executives" are a series of "wonder boys" that come in, discard everything that wasn't their doing, and re-invent the wheel with their brand on it. They usually are there long enough to screw things up and then get picked up by another company.

    3. Middle management has a siege mentality, never knowing when one of these "wonder boy" executives is going to come in and fire them, replacing them with their buddies.

    4. The actual workers spend a lot of time wondering what the hell is going on and who is in charge this week.

    They ought to just cut the crap and simply give the kids a degree after daddy dumps the pickup load of cash at the registrar's office. Saves time and effort on everyone's part and doesn't compromise the educational value at all.

    I told the new IT director that we needed a change management system.

    What I thought it meant was a piece of software that would:

    1. Back up the old website
    2. Take the new website from a Staging folder on the Dev machine and move it to production, after hours,
    3. Do some basic functionality testing (does the website even load,etc.)
    4. Provide an one button restore function of the shit hit the fan the next morning.

    What he thought it meant:

    1) Fill out a piece of paper advising everyone that the application was going to change and who they could blame if it didn't work...two weeks ahead of time.

    I do Joke. In fact, it was partially to point out that Assange and his friends could make up just about anything and post it as a leak of some kind.

    Without a doubt, those who are inclined to support wikileaks would fall for the fictitious leak completely, especially if it dovetailed neatly with their world view.

    And yet taxes were still far lower at the end of his term than at the beginning.

    What you left out is that those increases were part of agreements with the Democrats in Congress to reduce spending. Congress promised to reduce spending in return for marginally higher taxes.

    Guess who reneged on their promise?

    The ability to filer based on moderation is the real problem. Really, anyone who can read should be able scan. I have my filter set to -1 because many good points end up being buried there and have no problem scanning through the discussion.

    In fact, setting the filter higher leads to disjointed posts referring to posts you can't see without a lot of clicking on Parent and following it up the chain.

    Most nice have scrolling wheels, learn to use them.
