  1. Whoever solves the 'self-driving car' problem will make an absurd amount of money, people are betting Elon will win that race.

  2. What about Adventure Pinball? on Pinball Wizards on the Internet · · Score: 3, Informative

The guys who made Epic Pinball (Digital Extremes) released a new Pinball game a few months ago, built with the Unreal Engine. Its pretty cool and look great as well. You can find more about it here: http://www.pinball.ea.com/

There's also a free demo available.

Digital Extremes is now working on Unreal Championship and Unreal Tournament 2.

...is that we'd start over with something completely new.

yes, but they'll have to create a brand new genre of games. Racing, fighting and sport games are fun but I don't see how that would translate to a MMOG. And even if a game like EverQuest worked & was fun on a console, what kind of community would it have? I don't think most of them would take the game as seriously as "computer" people.. I suspect that a lots of them would only try to be as annoying as possible.

I don't live in the US, but I live in a capitalist country and am perfectly happy with the way things are going. I don't see why you say that we are less and less happy about the situation. Are you suggesting that people were happier during another timeline ? (renaissance? middle age?..) Personnaly I don't know if we are happier, but we certainly are not more miserable than they used to be.

About the reason why people arnt interested in politics.. IMHO, it maybe because it now has more to do with lobbyists & money than to the average citizen, or maybe because people are happy the way things are & don't feel the need to get involved?

  6. Irrelevant on Embedding Ads In MP3s? · · Score: 1
Radio shows ALREADY play Burger King advertising before songs. Hell, they can say anything, discuss about politics, abortion, ... and then play any song they want, as long as they pay the right guy.

Why get a free release w/ commercial instead of from a friend? Simple, to support and encourage your favorite artists. That would be enough to convince me, but those versions will be easier to find, and hosted on fast connections. I can live with that.

Anyway, the advertising will probably be very short, 10 secs max i'd guess. More would scare everyone away.

  7. History repeating? on Paul Steed Interview · · Score: 1
Don't take me wrong, I'm a great fan Paul Steed, he contributed a lot to the Q3 community by writing tons of tutorials.

The sad things though, is that he seems to repeat Romero's biggest error: overlook technology to only focus on art/design. Throws in an ego that easily match Romero's, and who knows what we might end up with... -N
