So the guy who points out that autonomous cars will nearly eliminate the roadway deaths we see every year is being more insensitive to those killed by automobiles than the guy who's saying "I don't care if 30,000 people die from automobile collisions every year"?
First of all, the law they're fighting is an anti-competitive, anti-consumer law. It's there to protect existing businesses from new competition, and it brings greater cost to the consumer. Second, the law was put in place specifically to prevent Tesla from coming into the car sales market in Michigan. It's not that it's been sitting on the books and now all of a sudden that maniac Elon Musk wants to do away with it for the evil purpose of selling cars without the added cost of a middleman; Michigan enacted the law at the behest of existing car dealers when they learned that Tesla was interested in opening up shop.
The "other dealerships" are the ones who created the anti-consumer system in the first place. Of course they're going to complain if someone tries to get around.
I can see the case for saying this isn't MS's fault. But to end with this is ridiculous. Lenovo, not Linux, is to blame for their use of a proprietary RAID mode with no Linux driver support.
Iris scans have nothing to do with facial recognition. If you're truly worried about a government-owned facial recognition database, don't get a driver's license.
I fell in love with the look of the S7 Edge, but I hate the constant unintended contact. "Oh, I want to watch this YouTube video." Turn phone to landscape. Different video starts playing because I accidentally tapped on one of the recommended videos.
One of the reasons I left Verizon was their OS update policies. I had waited forever for my Storm and later my Droid 2 to get updated, so when I next bought a new phone I went with a Nexus, which the sales guy assured me would get OS updates early without having to wait for Verizon's lengthy OS review process (with the Storm it was so bad that new updates were being released by Blackberry before Verizon was done reviewing earlier ones, with them responding by ditching the earlier update they were reviewing and moving on to review the new one). So Google announced Jelly Bean and was still waiting for the update. I made multiple calls to Verizon asking when I would see Jelly Bean on my Nexus, each call resulted in a different answer, all of them handwaving.
Finally I complain that I only bought the Nexus because I was assured that I wouldn't have to wait for the Verizon review process.
"Oh no, sir, you still have to wait. It's just that Nexus users will get the update first."
"First? What do you mean first? If everyone still has to wait for the review process regardless of what phone they have then everyone will get the update at the same time".
"No. Nexus users will get the update right after the OS update is certified, then after two weeks we'll release it to other phones."
I was just reading about this televangelist who thinks that Pokémon Go is dangerous because Islamic Terrorists (tm) can use it to find where churches are, as if there's no other way to find churches.
Because our politicians are irrationally attached to the idea that the almighty Free Market always finds the best solution. So instead of listening to experts who say "this is the way you should do it" and then mandating that it gets done that way, they let companies decide what to do based on their bottom line. The end result is always a complicated mess that hurts consumers, but is obscenely profitable.
I love Citibank's ATM's... you now have to "dip" your card (swipe), wait for the machine to tell you to just insert and leave the card (chip'd), wait some more, THEN enter your PIN number.
Why don't you just insert the card into the chip reader to begin with? It sounds like the only issue here is caused by you not knowing how to use your card.
My other problem (with ALL banks) is that I DO NOT WANT A CREDIT CARD (or debit) tied to my primary checking account. The account where I, you know, pay my bills. Who's bright idea was it to do this -- allow someone to easily empty my account leaving me with bounced payments while cleaning up the mess?
This is irrelevant to EMV cards, but if your bank is tying your credit card to your checking account (for anything other than automatic payments) then you should switch to a different bank. Debit cards, by definition, are tied to a checking account; there's nothing you can do about that besides destroying the debit card when it arrives.
I want a ATM [only] card. Can't get that anymore. So I take debit/credit cards and lock them away and NEVER EVER use them other than as a ATM card and ONLY at their locations. I never pull cash out any old place. Silly IMHO.
Bully for you.
Give me a credit card that requires a PIN entered.
Please RTFA for an explanation of why that won't happen without government mandate.
You're technically in violation of your card's terms of service. A while back the post office was refusing to accept these cards (they likely still do).
You sound exactly like the sort of stupid right wing bigot that Clinton would most appeal to.
The only way the fact that they're safer isn't obvious is if you completely ignore the evidence.

What about my right as a consumer to not have to go to a monopolistic dealer who adds no benefit but increases the price substantially?
They're only changing the name. Everything else stays the same. I'd say RTFA, but it's in the fracking summary.
My first experience was similar, only instead of a wall of fire I was met with 5,000 duped shields.
See, if you had read the article then you wouldn't be looking like such a complete idiot right now.
just a lack of drivers on Linux's part

That's just wrong,
64GB of internal storage (with support for more via microSD card)
It's a big improvement over Win7. I don't understand the hate.
The thing is that this affects all the Olympic athletes. Singling out swimmers is just weird.
So are swimmers not athletes now?

It's not really that much slower. It just seems much slower than it is because the machine holds onto the card throughout the process.
It's not like this system was demanded by American consumers, douchebag. It was forced on us by banks looking to increase profits.
Maybe you're both the same person!
