it took 4 microsoft engineers, 1.5 years to develop this revolutionary idea... maybe they'll get the patent too:) I'm currently working on a break-through idea of my own -- why not make directories appear as folders. think of all the time and energy it'll save in explaining things to non-technicals. Should only take a few years (by myself). I smell a patent, baby./Daemo
Actually, yes. A buddy and I are in the process of starting up such a project. Not based on Itsy, because of it's license, but using the StrongARM processor. Similar to the LART, either using it's design, or, more likely, rolling our own (my buddy's a hardware guru) We're close to putting up a site so that we can start discussing details with the community. When we get the site up, I'll submit it to/. and see if they'll talk about it. The idea right now is a small, modularized system that is completely open source (ie, software and hardware). we have tons of ideas, but we want to find out from others (aka - you) what kind of stuff would be really cool. more to come (hopefully)...
I don't think you should auction it or sell it either. If you do, you are encouraging the behavior that we despise - squatting! When someone registers a domain name, they don't own it. They _rent_ it. And every year, they pay the rent to keep it for another year. When you don't want/need it any more, you should just let the rent run out and be done with it. This is the only way to be completely fair, IMO. That being said, what really sucks is, if you do the right thing and just let the rent run out, someone else will probably come along and rent it, only to 'sell' it for huge bucks. But if no one does the above simply because someone else might make the money, then we might as well get used to it all. --/dp
IMO, Star Trek sucks now anyways. It has for a long time. It's like an old dying dog that doesn't quite want to give up the ghost.
Enterprise has to be one of the worst, from the theme song on down. blech.
anyway, I'm not trying to p!ss anyone off, just giving my opinion.
