I think you will find it was a Scotsman who invented television.

    The Japanese invented camcorders.

    The British invented personal computers.

    Good other points though.

The lack of ActiveX is the only stumbling block to me using this on our Order Processing intranet site, sure I have used HTML for the part the outside world sees But I have spent many months creating an extremely powerful order entry grid for my purposes.

And dont tell me to use Java, because the rest of the site is in Java it just was not fast enough for this purpose.

If mozilla ever gets ActiveX its replacing IE 5.5 on all machines here thats for sure.

I never understand why people believe that doing the correct environmental 'Thing' should always cost business jobs and cause all of our lives to get worse??

Surely it isn't that hard to use public transport occasionally, to reduce how much chemicals we use ( there are many many ways without making the slightest bit of difference to our lives)

Surely we all want to live in a nice clean world? Dont we?

I would disagree on your suggestion that VB is bloat. There is a place for all languages, and this is no different. I use VB at work to develop applications because it is fast, and the applications generated can be extremely powerful. I personally love QT/KDE with KDevelop for home use, but it is significantly slower to develop. Time is money. Therefore time saved is money saved. I would love to see an Open Source implementation of a powerful RAD development tool.
