I'm assuming this is an argument for using Linux, where OpenSSH server and client work out of the box and have been thoroughly tested by millions? Of course you wouldn't need or use SSH unless you were doing CLI, so it's pretty obvious that you are a clueless troll.

You replied to the wrong article. The question asked was how to explain programming, not how to avoid doing so in social interactions at a party.

"Why not just compare it to a normal human language, and say that writing a program is like writing a choose-your-own-adventure novel?"

Because comparing it to a human language would be stupid, and comparing software development to writing a novel doubly so. A Computer language is like a Human language in the same way a computer is like a human.

When you write a novel you do the whole thing yourself. You don't use portions of text written by others over which you have minimal control, which might be rewritten later and affect your story negatively. Your errors can't sneak in to publication only to come back later and cause hundreds of thousands of people to have their personal information exposed to identity thieves.

If you are telling people that a computer language is like a human language, it is you that needs someone to explain what programming is to you.

That makes you look condescending even though it is true most of the time. I have found that if I just sit in front of a computer, open up some files, and start explaining they will tell me "That is really complicated. I could never do that." Then they know it is true, and instead of coming off like a condescending jerk you get the cred you deserve.

  6. Your local Salvation Army has a great record of paying ridiculous salaries to their "Captains" and "Generals" as well as giving them lavish homes to live in and nice new cars to drive, as well as exploiting addicts actually. I'm not sure where you got the idea they did much for those in need.

  7. You clearly didn't follow the link and read PEP 8. None of these are actually issues. You are the classic "OMFG ... It's easy to be stupid with language features. The language sucks!" fool. Every language allows idiots to be idiots.

  8. I'm not even going to waste my time addressing your stupidity. Just accept the fact that you are incompetent and move on with your pathetic life.

  10. Your issue is with idiots, not Python. You should thank Python for making them easier to spot.

  11. I am dumbfounded by your stupidity.

  12. Name an editor that can't handle spaces. Simply follow PEP 8 and your problems disappear. You would be amazed how many problems can be solved by gaining a basic level of competence before giving up.

False accusations abound in the real world. Prisons are full of men who wronged a woman, or the woman perceived a wrong, and she fabricated a story of assault or worse. I myself had a woman claim I assaulted her (and I never met her before; it was I over a parking space). Luckily her testimony contradicted the laws of physics. It's good you found a good woman. Plenty of those exist too, and I am not saying their aren't plenty of legitimate cases either. But the world of male / female interaction isn't as simple as you think it is I'm afraid.
