ad infinitum... Also I'm not sure how you got OSX 'Tiger' to run a G3, unless you know of a trick I don't know of. I didn't think it would install, nor function properly without the altivec extensions.
What trick did I use to get OSX 10.4 to run on my G3 800mhz iBook with 640ram?
Step one: Insert DVD-rom into DVD drive.
Step two: Click INSTALL.
Step three: Wait an hour or so.
Step four: Enjoy Mac OSX 10.4 with, as others have stated, high end functions like Quartz Extreme and the like turned off. They're not supported, so it doesn't use them. All they do is speed up the OS, so it runs without them, just slower.
According to this story on Yahoo!, the flight has come to an end. They came up just short of the 100,000ft mark, but obviously this was quite a successful trip for an un-manned/non-rocket-powered aircraft. I'd just like to see video of the thing in action.
Actually, according to what I've been told, they've now said the game is "110% complete" and are about to begin (or already have begun)charging monthly rates. I'm not sure what the big deal about the game is, anyway. Any game half as buggy as this is normally just forgotten about (ie. Ultima 9, and it WAS a good game) but this one keeps selling and dissapointing.
I'm all for the purity of baseball; the homerun derby is simply eye-candy for all the rainy day fans. But anyone who watched the derby monday night who knew anything about baseball would have noticed that the pitching coaches made a huge difference in how it turned out. Sammy Sosa went with a pitching coach of his choice in the first round and barely moved on with only 3 homers. In the second round he chose to use someone else's coach and smacked 8 dingers. Obviously, the difference in pitching helped him out. With a machine like this, we could guarantee all the batters would be fairly pitched to.
As if anything needs to be said..this is really nothing but flamebait. Since it got moderated up, however, I feel I have to respond. The whole reason for people encoding the file names is so that we can keep sharing songs. However, just because you download an mp3 you don't own doesn't mean you mean to do malicious things with it.
I may be among the minority here, but I've purchased the music of almost every song I've ever downloaded off of Napster. Among the few items I've d/led and never purchased are rare or live recordings you can't purchase or classical recordings(I'm in an orchestra and like to practice by playing along). So insinuating that we're encoding songs just because we're horrible people who plan to suck all the money out of our favorite artists is just silly.
It's not as easy as just going out and purchasing the CD. I didn't think I would like the new Dave Matthews Band CD so I got on Napster and downloaded it. I've since decided to purchase it. I wouldn't have made a decision like that if Napster hadn't been an option.
While I don't think the.mp3 craze'll last forever, I find flaw in your statement that they "just don't make any money." It's apples and oranges here. Amazon.com has to provide physical GOODS on all purchases. eBay, on the other hand, deals in commision. Thus, they MAKE money(forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm about 200% sure that's true). Similarly, mp3.com only provides electronic goods, mp3s for download. Sure, they sell Rios and CDs as well, but mostly out of other distributors. I find it hard to believe that they're losing TOO much money with sites like Yahoo! raking it in. Anyway...I say ride that "bubble" while ya can.
