By the time the US laws became self aware, they had spread to
every country, even municipaility and Internet connection.
Affecting ordinary citizens even those who lived outside their
    parents home. Governments everywhere.
    It was crapy in cyberspace...
The great thing is the reverse is true. Instead of laws spreading, people will find that technology travels faster than laws and has more power, just like the machines, but the ending is the same: one day the people will prevail. Now I have to go down into my basem ..oh I mean my bunker and prepare for the rise of the US laws.

Yeah, who cares if Microsoft sticks to that "licensing spec". Is that the spec that they will use to force on hardware makers? No need for that because the hardware makers are already developing their own spec. Linux in the BIOS anyone? ARM platform. Microsoft is the one who needs to innovate here (ARM compilers, less bloated code, less DRM (cause these machines initially won't have DRM)), because Microsoft will have to adopt to the hardware makers not the other way around. With lower power devices, with less transistors, this will force Microsoft to become more agile if they want to survive. I hope the monopoly is starting to break and that we will have devices in between a desktop computer and a phone.

...Gartner is an IT firm that spends a great deal of time advising businesses on how to best implement Microsoft products. They aren't the Mouth of Sauron, speaking what the Eye of Mordor wants spoken.

Gartner sure says what Microsoft wants: it wants users to buy Microsoft products just like "Directions on Microsoft". Good thing for Windows 7!!! In fact for large businesses who seem to have the least need for Vista Gartner actually recommended Vista. So this is the same analyst who in 2007 recommended Vista for large businesses, or is C-NET pulling another Microsoft and trying to up-sell another Microsoft product just like everybody is up-selling Windows 7? Oh yeah, about Linux never being ready for the corporate environment or Microsoft being too dominant: where is your faith man? I know my faith was personally crushed when the "failure" tag was removed from the article. What a bad day!
