Did Apple (and the media) hype Apple TV as much as the iPad? I didn't think so. The sales of Apple products are proportional to the degree to which they were hyped. People are buying iPads because they're magic and not because they've tried them and compared them to competing devices.
When I use Chrome on Windows, the first preview of the session takes ages to be displayed. Consecutive previews display quickly. Even more frustratingly, Chrome's back button does not really work with this site. Who's to blame?
They use cookies to track individuals and their search history. If, on the same machine, you use any other Google service that requires authentication, then that cookie is easily linked to your personal data. Really, if there is something that you don't want Google to know, then maybe you shouldn't be doing it...
As far as I know, IE8 is the only browser that behaves as expected given a high DPI setting. It is one of the very few advantages that IE8 has over the other mainstream browsers.
Note that DPI-awareness is very different from zoom functionality.
I use high DPI settings on notebooks with small, but very high resolution screens. The result is beautiful and easy on the eyes. A bit like reading print.
Much popular MS software is DPI-aware. For example, IE8 is. Chrome and most applications by other software makers, unfortunately, are not.
It would be great if more software makers would make their products DPI-aware. Sometimes it can be done on the cheap. For example, all WPF applications automatically are DPI-aware.
Sopssa, it looks like there are a number of Google employees on slashdot who have an unlimited number of mod points. They will do everything in their power to keep you underground. It's amazing what 176.21B USD can buy.
Have you noticed what the Google is doing with the Android platform? Java, Linux, libc, for God's sake, they're all variants incompatible with the real thing! The Google is killing Linux on mobile phones and will be killing Linux on TVs and lots of other embedded devices. They don't care. Why should they? They are the Google.

no problem.
Wow. I am impressed. Can you please post the script that will copy only the pictures that feature my dog?

Just curious, do you use lynx as a browser or are you one of these GUI lovers...
example CLI fail.
You still haven't fixed the bracket!
Epic Fail
From the 20 pictures, copy only those that feature my dog. Start scripting... now!
Why would I want my IDE to print "hello fucking world"?
Once Google pulls the financial plug on Mozilla, Firefox is dead.
He he. He said "normal human being" on Slashdot. He he.
If you want an instant (not customized) solution, get a few guard dogs and a gun or two, and stay at home most of the time.
Are you sure two guns will be enough?
The mix of non-technical users and the CLI will be such a feast.
I don't believe you.
Thank god there are still plenty of naked sheep on Wikipedia.
You must be using some super-secret browser from the future that supports all of HTML5.
Actually, this is all I needed to know. Which button do I press to make all other posts go away?

It's the law in a number of countries. In practice, people publish, but then take down the pictures if anybody complains.
You definitely cannot in Germany. Here's one random link: http://www.flickr.com/groups/canttakepictureshere/discuss/72057594072672584/
It certainly is not in the public domain. You cannot publish pictures of a person (that you took in public) if the person doesn't agree.
