I also use RBOC's services from a Linux box. The only problem I have with them is that they used to support easily downloading transactions to a Quicken file but now you have to download into Quicken itself.

In Canada the company I work for just created a network for public traffic that matches the Internet2. 2.4Gbps from the west coast to our crossborder connection in Chicago. We already carry large amounts of video traffic too. Gig E man rings feed the public too.
This is very true about the amount billed. It seems to companies that the work week is shrinking but that is just billed time. All the other time spent doing other business tasks and other activities to keep your mind sharp they ignore. Even companies that will pay for training want to approve of what you want to train in before the open the wallet.
