    Excessive charges are brought against most defendants. The double standard is that Pussy Riot are young women, and we are more used to protecting them than holding them accountable. Prisons are for men.

    And for this and its many bad copyright decisions Youtube deserves to lose money. Of course it's built on advertisement fraud, so it's not really clear how we can make that happen

    Not sure how the details would work, but obviously they must compare teachers in the same environment, not fire all the teachers in the toughest schools every year. How about the teachers in such schools who actually get results? They should just be left to burnout fixing the damage done by the teachers who take it easy and blame everything on parents and culture?

    A vague law is not going to be improved by indictment-loving prosecutors and conviction-loving juries. Prosecutors are proud of convicting children of producing child pornography. And even just having charges brought can get you imprisoned for quite a while pre-trial, destroy your reputation, and strongly incentivize you to plead guilty. It's also a cliche that child rapists are often "continuing the cycle" that began with their own abuse, so it's far from clear that claiming victimhood (like 90% of criminals and thugs) would inspire leniency

    What a waste, capping FTTH at dsl transfer rates. Sure, you'll notice a difference sometimes, but it's at a point of diminishing returns without more headroom, and the $50 install fee isn't worth it when a free coax hookup has the similar capability.

    Promo rate, actual price is $60, the 50mb/s is a "premium tier" that costs more, and upload is a joke if you want to do stuff like post to youtube or backup files online. TW is also mulling over caps, though I agree that they can be an alternative if they have a reason to compete for customers rather than just compete on share price by screwing customers

    People don't sit around in the registry and pay a hefty fee to give an updated photo for the spy system, they do it to drive. Using those photos is an abuse of the public trust. I'll print out your post and mail it to you when you are death row because a guy without a license who looks you went into a maternity ward and raped all the babies to death.
