    I, for one, say "Huzzah!" for these kids. If they keep at it and get their CS degrees, they'll have a great future working for $3-an-hour in India someday. Wait, that sounds cynical. I meant $4-an-hour.

    Last check was Ubuntu 10.04, had to struggle to get my trackpoint and USB modem working
    Trackpoint worked OOTB in Windows XP through 7
    The drivers for Windows are a part of the USB modem itself, so didnt have to hunt them down either

    Most stuff (with a few exceptions like fuel,console games,electronics) also cost proportioantrly less.
    Check out the PC games,Books prices at www.flipkart.com and compare them with the Steam prices
    Similarly, medicines cost around 10% of US costs
    And the worlds cheapest telecom.

    in addition to these 30-40 (which are on .com/.net/etc), the ENTIRE .xxx domain is blocked

    I cant say about other countries, but here in India, there are around 30-40 porn sites blocked, and on addition to that the entire .xxx domain is blocked

    I'm not sure if I should feel lucky that I got the basics done in school or unlucky that I didnt have the choice of taking the easier route

    Using something and understanding it are 2 very different things

    example:
    When I am driving a car, I dont care about much more than being in the correct gear,direction and applying the accellerator as needed.
    I dont really look at how the fuel injection is happening, or how the ECU is changing various parameters,etc

    I have a feeling this is more of a 1st world problem.
    There is plenty of calculus in high school physics here
