While generally I agree with you on the OP confusion on many accounts a good GUI does *NOT* need threads, event driven programming is very capable of powerful and responsive UI.
BULLSHIT!!!!!
if cell phones really are that dramatically more likely to cause accidents, then we should
see skyrocketing accident rates. Look at
an unrelated article but contains graph of cell phone subscriber rates - they have exploded
over the past decade. Then look at
which shows accident rates dropping over that same period.
Now "Correlation != Causation" is a big mantra around here, but that is a may or may not,
but NOT Correlation is a fairly big proof of NOT Causation.
yes, I do travel international much. And I have been in all
of the above situations. but never during those times have
I said, *damn* I wish I could have wikipedia right now.
Thanks for following up your made-up number with a formula of more made up numbers, that really clarifies things.
A quick google shows that average commute distance is 16 miles so round trip is 32 and a 20 day work week gives
640 miles [which should be enough for anyone!;) ]
average electric cost is closer to 12cents (varies by state)
and since there is absolutely no such thing as a "typical" EV
you give no basis for you miles-to-kWH conversion either.
So nice try, but next time provide a better BOE for your numbers.
actually, you are mistaken.
this is nothing like some new plugin to tie web pages to your desktop. it is different.
It's hard to explain, because it uses a lot of things we are familiar with, so you think it is just another incremental bell or whistle tacked onto a web page. but the results is way more than the sum of it's parts.
watch the video, it's long, but going through it you can really see the possibilities of what this could become.
I particularly liked "There are about 1700 active HVAC contractors in California. If we assume that each contractor has at least two work crews, it should be possible to easily find the approximately 3000 work crews required to fix 3 million systems over a period of two years." it should be "easy" since they are obviously all just sitting around twiddling their thumbs now.
don;t make 1 giant KML, break it up into parts and utilize regions and view based refresh to keep things fast and usable
by your logic $10 X 1 = $10 so, not changing the price at all is considered a 100% Increase - brilliant!
Perhaps you should read more often, and maybe learn what the meaning of the word increase is.

man, who is the looney who wrote that crap?

I think you should get out more - instead of letting boneheads do all your thinking for you and believe any crap people put on the internets.
umm, no it is not. Have you even looked at Apples existing parental controls? you have complete control over what you want shown or not shown.
