    Yep. Valenti's solution to not being able to use DVD excerpts in academic works was to "buy the VHS version".
    Not much of a fucking solution at all when there aren't going to be VHS copies of newly released titles.

    RSA doesn't rely on 'prime numbers being obscure'.
    It relies on the (as of yet) fact that multiplying is extremely fast and easy, and factoring is time-consuming and difficult (although parallel-izable).

    Well, Project Manhigh only tested the high-speed high-altitude deployment 'chutes. Their tests never left the atmosphere, and didn't really involve any kind of reentry procedure.

    Most of the hardcore gamers I know would/have take(n) the time to learn how to do things in Linux because they aren't worried about screwing up things. They are fairly compitent about hardware and software interactions, and wouldn't be too thrown off by different methods of doing things in alternate OS's.

    Well, you can generally assume that the next few releases will be working on whatever is marked (DEVELOPMENT) in the kernel.
    That being:

    More USB devices
    More multimedia devices
    Firewire
    DevFS
    RiserFS (soon to be incorporated into the kernel)
    HFS(+)
    NTFS stuff
    etc.

    Well, what I tell people is that:

    If you want to see more software like this in the future, then pay them; because otherwise, you can't expect anything in return.

    I stay as far away from 'copyright infringing' on software as I can. I wouldn't touch it with a 20' pole.
    The reason is that by following the liscences and restrictions, I see just how good/bad they are.
    This has really shown me the benefit of Free software (GPL, BSD, etc.) over non-Free.

    Well, here's a good quote from George Bernard Shaw that applies well to RMS:

    Reasonable people adapt themselves to the world.
    Unreasonable people attempt to adapt the world to themselves.
    All progress, therefore, depends on unreasonable people.

    I guess what that means is that because RMS is so hardcore pure GNU philosoply, he makes you think and question what it is that YOU believe in. That's a good thing.
    Sometimes he does seem to act like a whiny brat. Oh well, though.

    After the first few games, it just got monotinous (sp?). If the weapons were a little more diverse (but not to the overkill extent of UT), and the maps were more interesting, it might improve the longevity of the game.
    CTF games always degenerated into team deathmatch, and the same situations occured over and over again.
    I guess I'm just more of a counterstrike/aq2/TF guy.
