    According to the article, the City of Boston had a policy allowing officers to arrest people in those circumstances. No one will get fired for following this type of policy. I'm thinking the punishment will be an informal finger wag.

    Restricting your network to specific MAC addresses would be a good protection, too. As for wanting WIFI when you are out and about, there are data plans for that.

    I'm pretty sure even if Australia has that law, Australian law does not apply in the UK.

    That wasn't my point. It would be a major diplomatic issue if a sitting senator was not allowed to leave a country where he has not been charged with anything.
