Better yet, does anyone know where in the states you can get Lilt? (Or lift perhaps, I forget which name was in Germany and which was in the UK). I love this drink, it's made by Coca-Cola, but can't find it anywhere, even including places like Total Beverage. If you know a place, preferably in the Northern Virginia, Washington DC area, please email me: mattlesko at yahoo dot com. TIA.
One would have to assure that these additions would be both beneficial to the internet population as a whole, and could run on multiple platforms. One would want to create the 'embrace and extend' ideology of a certain bohemouth from Redmond, would we?
How about the shroud of Turin and random samples of the population? This might settle the theological debate on whether Mary had any children after Jesus.
My qualms aren't even with the technical issues such as how one could 'lose' people in a game, etc., but in the deus ex machina type ending. A kill-switch that destroys every last bit of memory of this game? Christ, just pull the power cord out! Reminds me of the James Bond films with the ubiquitous 'Self Destruct' buttons (labelled, with countdown naturally) located at his arch-nemesis' lair in plain view. I for one, cannot fathom one reason that a person would need such a device.
I don't read newspapers anymore, not because the 'digital revolution', but because I fear that newspapers aren't reportting pertinent infomation anymore, just vain attempts to attract eyeballs and become as vapid and glib as television 'news'. While Katz's only concern seems to be the lack of coverage of technology in papers, he neglects to mention that many subjects aren't covered in major media of far more importance than a few new toys for us geeks. Print media is not dead, I still find time to read AdBusters, 2600, Covert Action Quarterly, etc, but for the reasons that those publications (many of which contain extremely informative websites) deal with real issues, not just weather or not Calista Flockhart is anoxeric. Unless newspapers, and other classic media stop catering to low-brows, no-brows, and a far too pro-corporate viewpoint, I won't be paying any attention.
Do you feel that backwards-compatability with C spoiled C++? I often hear peoples laments of C++ for including these (to them) outdated features. This I believe is also why many like Java, which is more like C++ would of been without the C compatability. Do you have any regrets for sacrificing clarity for compatability?

Anyone have any friggin' clue on when this is coming out? The hype for 2.4 has reached the level of which Microsoft once garnered.
