Because, as noted above, perl doesn't have access to the Mac OS API under Mac OS X yet.
I must be missing something here. Why is access to the Mac OS API important from the point of view of Perl? And whatever that brings, is it worth the trouble of running in through the Classic environement (resource and memory usage, etc.) ?

Seems to me that this "problem" the industry is having with pirated (illegally sold, or whatever) software is here to stay. Rather than having lawsuit over lawsuit over this I believe we should start looking at other ways to deal with this.
The Internet is here to stay, and and with it the possibility for anyone to send anything to anyone else at anytime. You can't stop it. Ever. So LIVE WITH IT!
Am I the only one on this planet who doesn't give much for this "you-can't-copy-copyrighted-stuff" obsession? I mean, the standard argument is that someone will be cheated out of some profit while another will get something for free/almost nothing. Nevertheless, those on the losing side are already profiting for their products so who cares! Oh, yes. Of course. They are not getting the profit they COULD be getting. It's still profit. Stop whining.
The US can pass all the laws it wants, they can't expect to enforce it globally. In fact, unless the whole planet gets its act together, these laws won't make a noticeable dent in things. And even if they do, hackers will always exists and there will always be ways to go around any kind of protection scheme that those corporatist monsters can try to think up. Unless of course some governments start implementing martial law over this, but hey... let's stay serious here.:)
My point here is that they can pass all the laws they want for this, it won't eliminate the problem. The only way to eliminate it is to eliminate its cause: greed. Plain and simple.
This is true, but have you actually died in a dream? I havent, I always wake up just before I do. Perhaps if you do indeed die inside of a dream you die in real life, but if its true it can't be proven...
This may be off-topic, but I had dream once where I died. A cop shot me twice in the stomach and I then fell to the floor, quite dead and unable to move (but still conscious of all this happening, weird...). The only real-life effect was waking up with my heart racing.
