    This is really an old stale argument. According to this you should be able to purchase region-free DVD's for movies released before, lets say, 1990. These movies were certainly shown in all regions of this planet. But you can't buy those region-free (code 0), except may be Robocop (1987). Take a look at the list of Region 1 movies at IMDB and notice how few of them are available in Region 2.

    After about a month, stories get archived and can no longer be viewed nested and a lot of posts are missing.

    More annoyingly, all my saved URL's to interesting posts get killed!

    How about just stopping accepting posts to stories after a while and not archiving at all? Doesn't your database scale up to the task?

    If Einstein had paid his full attention to boring patents we wouldn't have a great new physics theory.

    Therefore we should celebrate stupid patents as a sign of our talented patent officers spending increasingly more time on some really significant research. This might hurt us short-term a little bit, but long-term it will be more beneficial for humankind.

    Movies on DVD are information which can be copied at no cost and the owner is not deprived of its use.
