I didn't see on the site though, what day is the competition itself? I'd like to go out and watch it. (I work in a building right down from DFRC, on main base)
If you're talking about AT2 (AT 1 you'd be out of luck, it's been out for a long time) you should have just bought it direct from NIS America's store. Not sure where you saw it for $60 new though, NIS America prices new releases at $39 for ps2, $49 for ps3

Hell, I would suggest buying direct from them anyways, tends to be cheaper and have extras bundled with it.
Speaking of which, I think they've come up with a model that works. Their products are fairly niche but they undercut, and lauch $10-$20 cheaper than anyone else, AND they tend to include soundtracks, post cards, or other goodies in the box. I doubt the recession has touched them at all, they've had a few excellent titles lately.
You beat me to bringing this up, the Parodius series is an all-time favorite of mine. I don't remember which one it was in but I loved the chicken race level. I remember those exclamation points vividly though, surprising as hell and were quite an obstacle, hard to dodge.
I've noticed the same thing though, western games tend to take themselves far too seriously, especially lately. Whatever happened to games like monkey island or mdk2? We used to have some good ones originate here.
For recent games rife with humor, I suggest checking out games published by Nippon Ichi Software, Which includes the Disgaea series, the recent Cross Edge, and most of the games developed by Gust (such as the Atelier series, most recently Mana Khemia)
I will miss multi-cylinder engines, though... every manufacturer is focusing on smaller engines now, implying the death knell for the V8. Americans seems to think that a V8 has to have at least 4 liters capacity... why not just decrease the engine volume? Sure, it's got more internal friction, but the sound and smoothness more than make up for that.
It's an uncertain time for car enthusiasts.
Not really, you can get a hell of a lot of power out of a properly tuned 4 cylinder, combine that with a curb weight under or around 2000 lbs and you've got a hell of a performance vehicle. Look at toyota's "MR2" line of cars (unfortunately a discontinued line after 2005) and mazda's "Miata".
same place it's always been http://sourceforge.net/projects/pidgin/

Sorry, I fail at formatting on slashdot...I'm too used to phpbb
link to their official store is www.rosenqueen.com for an example of how a publisher SHOULD work
