At least for gaming. In Quake 2 I always enjoyed being the crackwhore. There's just something appealing about being a sexy bitch who runs around and kicks everyone elses ass.
Have they added anything new? Or is it just RedHat with some patches applied? They mention this: PerMon(TM) is a graphic PERformance and MONitoring Tuner Utility that allows users to monitor driver performance tuning.

We don't need office, we need file compatiblity! I'd be perfectly happy using Star Office, Koffice, or Word Pefect. I just want the files to be compatible!
Interviewer: But in terms of the iCraveTV and DeCSS injunctions, (which the courts handed down in January), both are keeping people from accessingt he product of the Motion Picture Association.
Jack Valenti They're not at all. I don't follow you're logic there.
He doesn't seem to get it at all. Surely he must understand that all we wish to do is watch DVDs under Linux, why is that a crime?
....but I'll reitterate it here. One of the best solutions to this whole software patent mess is to have the USPO provide an "Open Review/Comment Period", where we could view all pantent submissions, and then have the opportunity to provide prior art, or show that it is not really a novel idea. This would provide us with the ability to strike down retarded patents without ever having to go to court.
Can anyone give us the goods?

I'm just out of range, can anybody in the area let us know what "godly" things the great linus says? I'd appreciate it.
Is it just me, or has IBM made a real turnaround in the last 5+ years? It seems they understand the whole open source movement, they've pretty much ditched they're sorry aptivas, and they seem to be a leader in new technologies. On top of that they've changed the way people percieve them. I remember hearing stories about how they had to wear knee-high black socks to match their black suits long ago, and now I go to an interview with them, and the guy is wearing jeans and a Polo shirt!
Honestly, this is one large corporation I have respect for. And there aren't too many of those left now and days.

Ok genious...then where can we go to do this kinda thing? Give me a country and I'm there. I'm not too fond of the US anymore to tell you the truth.....
The UDP is the same thing as if legal action was taken against your HOUSE because you had raw sewage spilling out onto the streets. It is now up to the owners of the house to correct the problem, fix the sewage leak, and then have the legal action stopped.
They've earned it. They were unknown until they filed for they're IPO, they didn't even have a product at the time. Everything about it says two-bit operation, and it appears they just want to cash in on the popularity of the "Linux" name. Contrast this company with VA Linux, who has been around for years, with a solid reputation built around their products. Linux One doesn't deserve empathy.
I'm a geek because i love to work on computers. Technology fascinates me, programming fasciniates me. I love the power and complexity of computer systems, and when you throw in netowrking to the whole picture, its quite beautiful.
I don't simply "play" with my computer, it is a part of my life. I can't function without an internet connection or email.
However, I still have outside activities and a social life. My original post was not a troll, I was simply stating that this "profile" is a load of shit. Profiles in general suck.
So Rob, what was the first story you ever posted??
You make it sound like it's some kind of degenerate fad..."whole linux thing" ????
BAH!!
On another random note, that Tux icon is pretty sweet!

Is this new?
Well, if slashdot would let me post without text i would have.

If I was the groom, I'd just stand at the "altar" and do crotch grabs throughout the whole ceremony!

It's a sci-fi a whole 30 years into the future
Your right. I had forgotten about that! Well good thing that all web sites are "open source" then
And i use the term VERY loosely!
Basically, check the link before you click it. Look for any sign of an ebmedded evil script in the ?variable=badstuff.
Of course, if the method is post, you really can't see it then.
Also, check all forms to make sure that the submit button is taking you to where you think it will.
These tricks are nothing new. And after it all, I probally won't change my browsing habits.
yeah, you do that, and report back to me.
Now napster servers will become as common as your average Warez FTP server. There is no stopping the power of distributed computing
As soon as the RIAA shuts down one server, two more will pop up. Haven't we seen something like this before?

Perhaps they meant "milli"
You never know with those marketing types.

Can @Home users still post on Deja then?
