    Yes, but what OpenOffice also has, that Koffice currently lacks, is bloat. Lots and lots of bloat.

    Except that wasn't what the marketing was saying was going to propel it past all the other office suites. It was touting an online repository of extensions as if it was some novel feature that KOffice just invented.

    How can Google be taken seriously in an enterprise environment if their most stable and successful offshoot project takes 5 years to come out of beta?

    Probably the fact that the version used by paying customers isn't a beta version? The "beta" version is the free-for-use version that they use to beta test any new features they add.

    They should have done this 3 years ago or more.

    Why? The free, public version is always going to be in a beta state since that's it's entire purpose.

    Gmail has been sufficiently stable all this time, yet this self-deprecating beta designation has constantly served as an admission of being non-committal to SLA.

    I'm pretty sure all the corporate customers they have would say otherwise.

    Since when we're they never not that? Did you honestly think that Asus put Linux on their EEE PCs because they really believed in the ideas of GNU and the GPL? Seriously? They put it on there probably to lower margin costs and to make money on some gullible GNUtards who are apparently just now realizing that Asus was out to make a buck and not to spread their ideology.

    What integrity did Asus ever have in the first place? Have you somehow missed the last 100+ years of corporations lying, cheating and doing whatever it takes to make a buck? Based on what history should anyone think that a corporation isn't going to do anything it takes to inflate the bottom line?

    In addition, I believe most netbooks shut themselves down when the lid is closed; you need to either figure out a way to defeat this or figure out a way to carry it around with the lid open.

    You mean like going to the power management settings and unchecking the box that says to sleep when closed?

    It's not insightful at all unless you're completely clueless about how a bankruptcy happens. One of the obligations of filing for bankruptcy involves the fact that you have to disclose information on people who have invested in your company. Filing for bankruptcy would do just the opposite of them being able to hide such information from Apple.

    Why would Microsoft be funding Psystar? How would weakening the effectiveness of software EULAs help Microsoft?

    It's not a typo.

    Most companies would not choke on $ 250,000 worth of debt.

    Most large corporations might not choke on that much debt, but they don't constitute most businesses. Considering that Psystar probably has little to no revenue coming in and no real future it's not surprising that they will just cut their losses without taking on more debt.

    Yes there are, but it's highly dependent on the context in which you use the term horsepower since it's not an SI unit.

    One mechanical horsepower of 550 foot-pounds per second is equivalent to 745.7 watts
    A metric horsepower of 75 kgf-m per second is equivalent to 735.499 watts
    A boiler horsepower is used for rating steam boilers and is equivalent to 34.5 pounds of water evaporated per hour at 212 degrees Fahrenheit, or 9809.5 watts
    One horsepower for rating electric motors is equal to 746 watts

Secondly, show me a real professional image or video editor doing work on a color-inaccurate 3.5" LCD screen. I'm not talking some random dipshit on the internet who claims to be a professional, I mean someone who works at a real film studio or a post-production house.
