Changes in speed are more dangerous than a consistently high speed. Having everyone slam on their brakes when they go past a cop creates a huge hazard, not to mention fucking with guys like me who are just trying to drive at the limit to get to work on time.

You don't see how this is different?

If you're telling people: "Hey, speeding really isn't safe and you can get a ticket if a cop catches you," is responsible and legal.
Telling people: "Drugs are bad mm'kay, stop messing with them before you get arrested," is a similarly good thing to say.

Flashing your lights at someone is more like telling someone: "the cops are outside, flush the drugs down the toilet now!"

I have heard this creationist rubbish for years and I am still waiting for just one (1) piece of evidence to be produced. There is more evidence to show Earth was formed in the accretion disk of the sun and life as we know it developed through the process of evolution than that the Earth was terraformed and populated. The idea of theism is nice but you really should stick to the truth. - we don't know.

I think you've missed a crucial point here. Obviously the propaganda peddlers are making the most money by selling to the plebs. We want to inform ourselves from to a higher standard, somewhere that does investigative journalism, somewhere that actually present an issue fairly. If we don't pay for them than they'll die and all we'll have left are the propaganda peddlers. People around here are more likely to know where to do that than I am, or the person who asked the question (presumably.)

No one is trying to insinuate that the style of government shouldn't change with the times. (OK, some people are, but try to ignore them.) What shouldn't change is what you stand for, and what you want your country to achieve. IT might seem heartless, but allowing people to fail has served the USA quite well over the last couple hundred years. For all its faults, the USA has been a significant world power of the last few decades. Many people feel as though they are sacrificing what made them great and following the lead of other nations with far less presence on the world stage. Acting as though those people don't exist or don't have an argument is not productive and will only lead to a widening of the division currently tearing the country apart.

It depends on what you mean by "poke holes". I watched a video last night about transitional fossils. Creationist often like to bring them up as an example of a "hole" in evolution. In reality there are hundreds of transitional fossils, but no matter how hard you look, there will always be some gaps. Short of finding every generation linking a modern human to the bacteria from which we evolved there is no way to convince a creationist. At no point do you need to assume that "man is correct about everything he knows" but you can weigh up two options and either choose the one with hundreds of fossils that seem to fit the theory, or the one with no proof which doesn't fit with what we already know.
