Just to clarify the pirate party in Sweden is not the same as The Pirate Bay. That scene might be very small, I mean Sweden is very small, but that doesn't mean there are strong connections betweens these organizations. Seriously I'm sure you know someone who knows someone in TPB.
The Green party in Sweden got in to the parliament because of knee jerk reactions as well (not really comparable though), it's the same thing. Coincidently the pirate party will join the green group in the parliament.
His contribution to the swedish EFF (if such a thing exists?).
EFF Europe is a branch, they should try to employ more people though.. FFII is a similar organization that just figihts against software patents.
Not sure why he would contribute to these organizations though.
Yes, since some years back it's now illegal to upload and download. This year they actually made it practical to try to find the filesharers by allowing people other than the police get the person behind an IP address.
In the news they are all talking about getting the "pro" uploaders, but that doesn't change the fact that you aren't allowed to download either..
The article is really good read it, the conclusion is that Ubuntu should hire the OSS developer, and that debian needs better OSS support. Another thing was Pulse Audio, which he say gives too much latency to be useable in games, not something I really care about but a 3 second delay is pretty extreme, I wonder if that is true.
That would be 650 USD, and hopefully that would give you somekind of quality, an ARM thinkpad perhaps?
Can't the aspire one handle suspend? Sounds strange my laptop is up form suspend in ~3s from opening the lid.
Google gears will keep your documents stored locally, on all the computers you use. There are cases when Google docs isn't great but it is very easy to backup you documents..
One case is:
In Stockholm I pay $3-$9 per month for 3G, even with max data usage you wouldn't pay more than $360/year.
Are you sure you're not using prices from 99?
Now while agreeing they are silly, since you have to restart applications with remote attacks (like, Firefox, Pidgeon etc).
You are never secure on the local machine anyways. I think there were two remote attacks in those notices, SCTP and ndiswrapper neither should be common practice.
Actually, for me it was: Windows crashes I try to install it again but Windows fails to activate correctly and I can't use my license key anymore without calling support. That made me return to Linux, I should always be able to use my computer even if I can't get onto the net for a month of two.
Ubuntu being usable as a desktop by default was a strong argument as well.
25% said they would stop file sharing if IPRED became reality, and it seems they did..:-) There's a huge build out of broadband in Stockholm and Sweden right now, lots of people are getting 100mbps. So things will change, especially with tech like One swarm that will multiply the bandwidth.
EUCD is the EU version, if DVD Jon would have been trialed in the EU it would have been interesting. Because I find it very hard to believe that anyone will ever get convicted for circumventing protection mechanisms, if it wasn't with malicious intent, or for monetary gain.
Yes, considering the really shitty interface for finding and installing programs in Windows it's really a stupid move to make things harder. I only buy games that I know are hassle free, or buy and hour or two every month in a local "arcade".

DMCA won't allow you to copy personal DVDs right? Otherwise it was a marvelous troll.

If Pulse Audio really sucks, then Linux Audio really is in a sorry state .
having your own police helps.

Yeah but can you get a passport that way, and can you get a work permit in another country using those credentials?
If I can get 100 mbps for 13 bucks then you should be able to aswell. With P2P your pipe outside .au doesn't matter.
FastEthernet should be able to run over 2 pairs. :-)
I find that time is a better index for websites than the order I clicked links. Firefox history side bar sorted by "latest visited" is very useful.
results can't save changes.

Why... is there... there so much... punctionations in the summary?
No it hasn't, please give one example. You can not be sentenced for actions which are not illegal.

I still don't get why you want the windows way, it takes so much more time.

And Spanish is a good example where they manage too translate a lot of the very technical words to spanish.
If you don't practise you wont learn? You don't need to understand Sesame Street, but it's very important if you want to know what to poke at 53280.
Well I think this AC on said it better and a whole day before this article.. :-) And that comment was marked funny, which is what this is as well.
This is good since I know support Indie games more like; World of Goo, Multiwinia and the Penny Arcade game.
