    The EU is looking into forcing providers and manufacturers to use open formats so users can easily use the same cloud on multiple types of devices. It would be so nice to be able to synchronize Firefox's bookmarks with Safari on my iPhone without any hoop-jumping, for example. Hopefully they will enforce a decision before the end of the century.

    I've been plagiarized once. This bitch had copied one of my articles I wrote in a Proceedings of a conference, with pictures and everything, and used it in an overview article. The worst part of it is that my professor didn't care about it. I'm still mad, and it happened 15 years ago.

    Reading the title I thought this was about some quack who made an app that 'prevents' you from the electromagnetic radiation while calling. Then I read the blurb and I thought: what has this to do with encryption? Then I saw that the title said Prying ears, not Frying ears. Aha!

    You have probably never driven a car on a German motorway. When overtaking while you are going 120 km/h you must make REALLY SURE that nobody is coming at you in a grey Porsche at 250 km/h or more. Also, when you get off the motorway you will notice that the exit is pretty short and often followed by a nearly 90 degree turn to the right. So if you are travelling at 200 km/h you have a small problem then and hope your brakes work. Darkness, rain and snow don't seem to bother many Germans, so you have to be even more careful then.

    I have a car and a bike. I much rather take the bike for a trip to the town center. No hassles with parking, you can drive all the way to the store instead of having to park and then walk for 5 minutes, you have the wind and fresh air around your head, you don't burn expensive petrol... Need I go on?
