Pity that there is now a bunch of lunatics trying to make printable guns. The world will not be a better place when everyone and their dog can download and print their own guns.
I often have the impression that people who don't spell well use dyslexia as an excuse. I am very much aware that dyslexia is a real thing and a big burden to many people, but I have seen too many university students who just are too lazy to check their spelling and then use the dyslexia excuse. So I think you have a point here, Anonymus Cow person. Having a hard time reading and spelling or being too lazy to invest time and effort into that does not make you dyslectic per se.
That's interesting. I used Slackware between 1995 and 2006 or so (you know, the days when next year was the year of Linux on the desktop), and then I bought a Mac and never looked back. Yes I tried Ubuntu and some other distros before doing my bold move but they also needed a lot of tinkering back then to get them to do what I wanted, and I was getting sick of having to do that all the time. Now that Apple is, how shall I put it, behaving strangely, I might go back to Linux one day or another. It's good to hear that my favorite distro is so user-friendly now.
On my iPad with iOS6, Street View doesn't work in Google Maps on Safari. I tried Opera, but when I try to go to maps.google.com it opens Safari. Same with YouTube. Very annoying.
"Base13: "What do you get if you multiply six by nine?" "Six by nine. Forty two." "That's it. That's all there is."" No. You still get fifty four. It doesn't matter how you represent that amount, the amount is still the same. So "6 x 9 = 42" is correct, but "six times nine is forty two" isn't.
Exactly. In the 1970s we would have flat TV screens within 10 years. In the 1980s we would have the picture phone real soon now. In the 1990s Linux on the desktop would be next year. When will people please stop these rubbish predictions?
It's a bit strange. Here in Holland we are not supposed to use light bulbs anymore but Schiphol Airport can increase the number of landings and take-offs by around 30000. You need to ban a LOT of light bulbs to compensate for that.
Show me how to get my beloved Street View back then. That is the point: no one told me that my beloved Street View, and full-screen movies in YouTube, two things I used a lot and loved to bits, are suddenly totally gone from the iPad. I thought I would get them via Safari, but no. So again: Apple broke my iPad and I want my money back or a downgrade. I will not get either of them, so I feel screwed.
That's what my fanboi friend said (not implying that you are a fanboi). But the truth is, Apple broke my iPad with iOS 6 and I want my money back. Why would I download some third-party apps to get back the fuctionality that I had?
I think that if Apple, Google and Samsung were countries we would have World War 3 today. Why do Apple and Google try to solve their disputes over the backs of their customers? I thought I'd use Google Maps in Safari to get Street View back, but even that doesn't work. Google Earth on the iPad is just a shadow of what it is on the Mac. why is that? And I didn't even mention YouTube...
That's where Obama comes in. I know it doesn't have much of a chance but a man can dream, can he? The weirdest thing for me is that these patents wars are also fought in Europe, where software patents aren't recognized.
Cars and phones are fashion accessories to many people. For a fashion accessory, things like thickness (iPhone 5) and width ( Samsung Galaxy SIII) matter a lot.
It's like with PCs. Smartphones are so fast nowadays that whatever you buy is good enough to do 90% of the things people want a smartphone to do. So even a 100% speed increase is no compelling reason to upgrade for most people.
Exactly. He isn't a real programmer, so no, not everyone can be a programmer. Take my parents, for instance. They will never program anything. They had a VCR for 10 years and didn't even try to program that.
Yeah, those were the days ;). At least we have a choice now. Even in companies you see more and more Linux and Apple.
Pity that there is now a bunch of lunatics trying to make printable guns. The world will not be a better place when everyone and their dog can download and print their own guns.
That thing is amazing. I still can't believe how I could ever live without it.
Or ESA has to convince NASA people with experience to come over and work for them.
Headphones don't block noise and turning them up to block noise will damage your hearing.
So they do help :).
I know a country that calls itself civilized that is still using the impirial system, together with Lyberia and Myanmar.

Yes they do. The fact that the user doesn't notice the fact that it's a Unix system doesn't mean it isn't.

But how would you then say the number sixty one in Base 13?

Please Mr. Obama, when you are re-elected, please make all software patents invalid because they clearly don't work.

I think the smartphone has also passed that point. I wouldn't know what to do with the awesome processing power of the iPhone 5.
