And then it calls for 64 bit host address space. meaning there can be as many computers in your network as there are networks in the world. Convenient, but complete overkill as it lacks the ability to personally manage your host network address space with a memorizable number. Though actually I believe recent versions do allow personal host addressing.. its still overkill.

  21. Re:Why do we love Ubuntu on Ubuntu 5.10 "Breezy Badger" Released · · Score: 2, Interesting

People are much better off with ubuntu for transgaming IMHO. Things just work. That's nice. I futzed around with Gentoo on the desktop for months and even have it on a server. I wont be doing that again. It's always nice when you emerge -u system and networking completely breaks on a production server :/ Of course it was fixed in 10 minutes, but still very uncool.

Gentoo *can* offer much better performance, however, most people that install Gentoo will never get a system more optimized or even as optimized as the default Ubuntu install will - or, if they do, they spent *huge* amounts of time trying to get things to work. Gentoo was a fun learning experience, but it is not a serious desktop or server distro.

I just simply can't believe the British government would so unabashingly remove a British citizen's rights so quickly under an "Act". The British have always done this - the whole is more important than the individual. That is *exactly* the type of action that led to the American Revolutionary War when the Crown tried to tighten down more than the people were willing to let them.

It is sad that Americans have now, slowly but surely, allowed a domestic government to do the very same things that we fought for independance from.
