Just out of curiosity, and to open the minds of readers a little, how much would you like to be paid for working away from you friends and family for years at a time, sometimes in an entirely different country?
Personally I have worked away from mine in a camp with internet and phone access, and only for four months, but it was still taxing not to see your loved ones.
Actually, I think you should say the competent prosecuter tried to get the only charge he had a hope in hell of establishing. Lori didn't create the profile, and didn't post the abusive messages. This would be the equivalent of me charging you for harassment for helping a family member set up their facebook page which they then abuse. The prosecuter clearly understood these things and went for the only charge that had a chance of sticking.
I think there reasoning goes something like this... If we shut down the one place where the majority of people go to find our stuff (search engine) then we don't have to go through the legal hassle of tracking down the 50 sites sharing our content.
To draw a car analogy, you could shut down a dealership to stop them from producing cars that may or may not be used illegally, or you could spend millions patrolling borders and checking every vehicle from that dealership that crosses the border....oh wait...
Easy, the first day they blocked one site. The next the blocked two. Now at this rate in a million years they will eventually be blocking a million sites a day, therefore the are "on track" to block 1 million a day.
I really, really hope this gets to the point where you can go into a clinic and get the good old Fallout 3 or Mass Effect character creation screen. I mean seriously, how awesome would that be?! My kid is definitely getting +4 to luck, then I can send him or her (I haven't gotten to the sex selection screen yet) to Vegas!!!
I prefer the trusted method of ending with, "good day." So when someone attempts to refute your point you can yell "I SAID GOOD DAY!" And storm out of the room.
