and he doesn't work in the health care industry; he does programing for Sallie Mae. Why is his job in jeopardy? It's because the democrats want to kill two birds with one ungainly stone by privatizing the student loan industry. This whole thing is a mistake. No one seems to care about this takeover, because they are obsessed with this health care bill, which isn't even worth the paper it is written on. Sallie Mae takes loans from Bank of America at 5% and adds on 1% to service those loans. That 1% is what the government wants to cut from the picture; attaching it to the health care bill to mitigate the cost of the health care bill! If the government cannot do as well as private company that has done this for decades it will actually lose money.
Just like health care and education, I need food and a place to live to survive in this world. So, why can't I get all my goods and services from government centers that get their supply directly from the source?
As a former Marine, with injuries, I have faced the VA on many occasions, and in turn, they inundated me with paperwork that would make a welfare recipient surrender. On top of that, I am utilizing the new G.I. Bill, which had a very very ugly start last year. Many veteran's did not see a payment until the end of their first semester, because the system was "too complicated"; they had a year to get it right, but they failed. Some things that have bugged me; individuals who tell you it's not their job and transfer you to another person who says the same thing, endless forms to fax that never get received, telephone numbers that direct you to different dimensions where there is no hold - only a busy signal (what, is this the 90s??) If the federal government cannot even take care of it's veteran minority, then how is it supposed to service the majority
Why are my parent's still upside-down 300% in their house value, why are countless American's still unemployed, and why is Social Security on the back burner when it's out of money? Where are viable fixes for these problems?
I voted for Obama and so did my friend. So far, Obama has been a colossal failure imo.
Today China announced its plan on building a moon base to extract helium-3 by 2050.
In other news law makers in the house passed a bill okaying a 100 billion dollar package to promote
more liberal arts and business degrees.....
By the time a student graduates high school, he or she has effectively had somewhere between 50-100 different adult supervisors, learned to work in groups, learned the importance of deadlines, had to follow rules outside of their parents, and met a variety of people. I'm sure there are plenty of home-schooled individuals out there with a high IQ, making big bucks. However, I also believe there is probably a large percentage of them who have social problems because of their lack of "social experience".
There is also another group I'd like to bring into this and I'll refer to them as "testers". Testers are students who turn in very few homework assignments, but still pass the class due to their ability to soak in knowledge without homework support by scoring high on tests. In a way, testers are a hybrid of unschooling and class room students, because they spend their extra time doing something they "love", rather than doing pages and pages of math problems. I know quite a few "testers", especially in the IT/CS field because they were so addicted to their computers at a young age.
How the hell did these stations survive past the 90s? Seriously? This technology should be fazed out and the frequency bands allocated to something worthwhile. Radio was going the right way in the late 80s by playing local bands and more underground music, but that changed during the 90s and any kind of underground music was gone by 2000. (unless you listened to a college AM station) Since Pandora supports a broader range of music from Beethoven to Burzum, I hope they cause these shitty stations the pain they deserve for making my radio useless. Even the local 80s station stopped playing 80s music and started playing coldplay.... wtf?
If I was Pandora I would try to team up with verizon and use that new wireless they are working on to compete with the radio. People who listen to music will pick Pandora; people who like to listen to short, ugly guys talk all day , will pick the radio.
True. I always found it sad that my SSN and other personal information (Mothers Maiden, Home Address, to name to name a few) was at the hands PVTs and PFCs in admin.
how our tax money is put to good use in these perilous times with the portrayal of a swat-like raid on a software pirate.
You know because he probably spends the money he saves, by pirating software, on assault weapons, hardcore drugs, and danky craigslist girls.

Do you know what this means? It means, that this damn thing doesn't work at all! --- I know it's overdone, but I had to.

That if I could trade a piece of my soul for the newest hardware, I would.....
