Gore has the most pro-environmental stance that any candidate with an actual chance to win has ever taken.
If he looses based on votes lost to the Green party the Democrats will move to the right to regain the swing voters that Bush got this election, not to the left.
I went to lunch with 4 co-workers the other day. Every one of us would benefit short-term under Bush's tax reform, but not a single one of us thinks that Bush will be better for the country.

In the early '90s Mackie released a series of mixing boards that were unsurpassed at the time in terms of quality of design vs. price. Not too long after they released a design of 8-buss mixers, Berringer, a German company that, prior to this point, had not had a single mixer that I am aware of in their product line, released their own 8-buss mixers. The Berrnger design was nearly identical in circuitry to the Mackie design, and sold for substantially less.
In a case such as this I can easily see how the company whose product was reverse-engineered would be upset, and consider such reverse-engineering to be theft.
If the webcaster is operating in a radio-style format, then the royalties should be paid to ASCAP/BMI as they are by a radio station. By radio-style I mean the content is decided on the server-side, as opposed to a juke-box style, where the client determines the content.
Or, interestingly enough, real top-of-the-line, professional quality hardware. I've had to pass on two soundcards (AdbDigital MultiWav! and TurtleBeach Tahiti) whose combined retail cost was over $600 to a friend because they won't work with either BeOS or Linux, and I don't use win98 anymore. (Actually, I got the Tahiti to playback in Linux, but not to record)
You've got to be kidding...

SB Live! - any support yet?
Yes. My card works under both BeOS and Linux.(although I heven't hooked up the digital out yet)
It's also the first card Creative has made that I would consider using for real audio recording.
