I run SC under Win2k. When I exit the game, the system doesn't freeze, but the executable won't exit cleanly. Walked through with tech support for 2 months before they gave up. Since the executable won't exit cleanly, my system (if I just leave it up after SC) will BSOD after a few minutes. That's about the only reason I don't play SC more...
Um, netscape has always been free, to my knowledge. Sure, they charged if you wanted a CD, but if you just downloaded it, it has been free.
Of course, I'm old and I can't remember as well as I used to. =P
Let's assume that netscape has always been free. Why should M$ charge for it? Wouldn't that put their product at a competitive disadvantage? That doesn't make sense.
*shivers* Egads, now I have to go cleanse myself. I just defended M$...
In the grand days of computing, before domain names cost money, and InterNIC become a fuckedcompany named NSI, edu addresses were available to any institution that provided education. (duh!)
Now, it is restricted to American institutions that provide education on a four-year degree basis.
Cherie talks about using the transistors as a liquid, which she can use to spray onto objects, like ink. Is it me or is that like the idea of putting 'LCD' anywhere?:) Like an ultra-thin sheets of displays that can be stuck anywhere?
Or am I off base on this technology?
FWIW, Freshfields is a UK-headquartered law firm, one of the Magic Circle law firms.

There's no mystery to this screw. It's perfectly clear who Apple is screwing. ;)

Um, not to be biased or anything, but I should trust the benchmarking results on the _vendor's_ site?
If that's true, Microsloth has benchmarks that says that ASP is the fastest language and they have a bridge to sell for only 2 dollars.

It is just like that other slashdot story about how a NY ISP is paying due to the content they hosted.

The quote is said by JFK, during his inaugral speech, I believe. =)

That's what warez sites are for. ;) They've been doing this long before Napster, and they'll be doing this long after Napster. ;)

Um.. Red Hat and VA are both for-profit organizations. They sell stock. :) Redhat is RHAT and VA is LNUX, both on the NASDAQ.
I'm not sure about Caldera, but I think it is owned by a for-profit organization. Don't quote me on it though.
