On AT&T's (or anybody else's) wire, there is no such thing as "darknet". The host will be found and taken down. The only alternative is a true P2P chat than can connect you direct to the person you wish to talk to after exchanging IP addresses.
Yeah? How well do you think that's gonna work with deep packet inspection? And please, save your breath about encryption. That too, will be restricted...
Where are they going to find the money to do that? Are they going to trace every cable and wireless signal into the hidden closet where they keep all their drives? And when are we going to start monitoring the government?
FTL is a prime necessity. Interstellar travel simply cannot be practical without it. The idea should be no more 'fringe' than man on the moon. To call it so only slows down the process of getting there. To me it only points out our complete lack of understanding and the flaws in our models of the universe. I'm no physicist either, but some things are too basic to let go. To butcher the quote: Time, space, and consciousness are not as separate and distinct as they appear to be. In other words, we are bacterium with no idea what's outside the petri dish, or even the inside that's not sugar coated
History shows that all political parties become more corrupt with increased acquisition of power. I've watched the Greens in various countries, and the alliances they make are less than palatable. And people being people, there's really not much to differentiate no matter where they are from.
I made no mention of copyright. The issue is enforced filtering and general freedom of speech. Besides, the Australian deal was over pornography. The author of the link was running for some position under the Green Party.
Well, I only asked because the Greens were mentioned in the summary and various articles. However, I think it's important to know where the Greens stand on such issues before they are given any real political power. In matters of verbal communications, it's the listeners that should be held responsible for their reactions to anything being said.
If Crookes did this in association with the party, then fuck them. They're just like the rest. Their record on internet freedom isn't exactly outstanding. The stand they took a few years back in favor of filtering in Australia is a case in point. Either way, I don't trust them as far as I can throw them.
Sorry to hear that... Well anyway, check Barb's journals under 'stupid (ex) landlord tricks (trix?) to see how it went for her and garner whatever info that might be useful to you. Best of luck
Completely off topic, but I saw your comment here and thought this might help you find what you're looking for (probably not anymore, as seeing as that JE is pretty old and you've resolved the housing issue by now). Just plug in the user's UID, and you'll see all the journal headers of that person on a single page. Slashdot's not completely borked... yet...
Then fork it.. I mean if you really insist on using Chrome... Personally I stick with Seamonkey, the all inclusive browser, and not much bigger than Firefox anymore
These people will have their way with you, and you will like it! And if you don't, too bad. Whatever policy they have will be a sham, so why not just tell the truth and sell you out? Whaddya gonna do about it, eh? You gonna switch? To whom? HAHAHAHA...
Neutral arbiters don't exist. Monopolies are created and protected by those who write the regs, who also happen to have large stakes (being their future employers after leaving office and all that) in the businesses being 'regulated'. As long as the voters reelect these people, nothing will change. Your 'fix' just won't happen. The collusion and regulatory capture will continue ad nauseum. This is all age old stuff. Almost to the point where I don't understand the question.

Protects your privacy and doesn't track you..
Heh, you actually believe that?

We can use machines, instead of prisoners, to change my bedpan
Yes, and don't forget the MPEG license
We need to be able to edit our own posts Slashdot!
Never! Just do like you just did. Make a subsequent post. Fixed comments are what keeps Slashdot ahead of the rest.
The universe doesn't work that way.
As seen through an early 20th Century lens from the industrial age you are most correct. Time for a new set.
Unfortunately that's not how life works.
Yes yes, we all know that man will never fly. Thank you for that tidbit

Useless? That would depend on how well it ferments, and tastes.. I wouldn't mind if it's a little slow if it produces a nice brandy, or similar
So now they're gonna make napalm out of the stuff?

No, AT&T does.. same difference
...people will think they invented it, too.
Perfect opportunity to sue Samsung when they release it.
Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on...
on the iPhone's battery?
Who's going to want to work at Foxcomm for a hundred years? We've got to kill off predatory politics and economics first.
