Sorry, but transitivity is not the problem. His definition of the equality operator (==) is not symmetric, e.g. "Pixar == Linux" is not the same as "Linux == Pixar". This, of course, will lead to a contradiction.
Well, along the same line of reasoning, we should also hold M$ liable for criminal neglect. If the US government is going to consider 'computer systems and infrastructure' critical to national security, then M$ should be held liable for knowingly and intentionally releasing flawed software. The kicker is that they don't reveal (or dont want revealed) the flaws that the consumer should be aware of.
Could you imagine other companies in other industries releasing products that they know have major flaws?
Everyone quit bitching and moaning about this. There is a very simple solution. Stop consuming mass marketed, least common denominator, MBA designed music. If you want to reduce the lobbying power of the recording industry, then stop paying them money! Support your local musicians. Sure they're aren't as refined and developed (technically at least), but hell, it's almost as good and if not better in many ways. If you don't want to listen to them in a bar, then have someone buy a CD for you.
You're kidding, right? I'm sure that the bad guys have friends that are mathematicians or computer scientists that will gladly write encryption software for them. If you restrict knowledge on number theory and theory of computation, you might as well kill off science while you're at it. So let's outlaw writing one-way hash functions. Let's ban any form of self-defence and hand to hand combat, since it was used to hijack the planes. This gets rediculous very quickly.
Why was this modded as flamebait? It's like equating criticism of US policy in the Middle East as being unpatriotic. This person brings up a good point. We are letting this happen ourselves by not being involved with government.
Yes, most of the people I know, including myself, hate using Ameritech (SBC now) due to really crummy service, bullshit excuses, and price gouging. Ameritech is basically trying to screw all of the other telco companies for obvious reasons.
Rescue Rangers kicked ass! I remember fantasizing about a head to head version of that and how unrealistic it would be. Sheesh.
Everyone had a secret sequence of vehicles and troops to deploy. The chopper versus chopper fighting was pretty cool, especially after you run out of ammo and need to use the balloons or your rocket launchers. But the worst thing is watching your troops getting bombed and you are just refeuling...
Shit, this game is still incredibly playable today and was one of the first games that I could play on a LAN since AppleTalk boxes were so much cheaper than Ethernet equipment back then. But shit, wasn't this one of the earliest head to head muli-player network games?
I was really tickled to see Pirates! I could never figure out the optimal way to swordfight aside from going to the open line and using combos.
Has anyone tried cdparanoia? I would think that it would work on this intentional read corruption. Does that put the author of cdparanoia in violation of the DMCA? Shit, so I can intentionally scratch some cd's of mine and call it copyprotection while sueing that guy for writing cdparanoia?
With all of these neighborhood DSLAM's lurking about, wouldn't it be fairly easy to open up one of those green utility closets and sniff your neighbor's network traffic. Wouldn't a laptop and a patch cable do the trick?
Ok, but I wasn't talking about Europe. Don't get me wrong, I take mass transit. But, some forms of it, leave much to be desired. Let's face it, riding a subway train at night is NOT safe nor recommended.
Don't forget that European cities are much older than cities in the US. They were not designed to accommodate automobile traffic. As much as I hate traffic gridlock, stupid drivers, and superfluous driving in general, you cannot damn the automobile outright. Not only that, the US mass transit system is at capacity. (Sorry, I can't cite the reference since I heard it on the radio).
Besides, on public transportation, it's alot easier to get:
1) robbed
2) raped
3) stabbed
4) assaulted with smelly odors
Face it, aside from collisions, you are much safer in your car, and I'd much prefer my mother of sister drive at night than ride public transportation. Maybe safety is also a luxury.
Don't get me wrong, I love LaTeX and use it as my general word processor for almost everything that has to look nice. But, have you tried to do a text search on dvi file? hehe, can't do it.
If you want to send pure LaTeX, which HEAVILY depends on the local installation of the files, then have you seen how slow the latex command is (along with the font creation, etc...)?
That's so fucked up. I wasn't asked for an id today either and I was about to go back inside and remind the so called election judges that they should do their damn jobs and stop reading Stephen King.
I just can't deal with the fact that I have to hear more soundbites of Hillary Clinton on NPR for another 6 years...sigh.
Lazio must be a complete idiot.
Ok, then what is the semantic meaning of his "==" ?

Hear hear. By being 'unarmed' does nothing but keep the bad guys armed. Politicians have body guards, but regular nobodies have to just wait and see.

You mean EBCDIC?

I haven't even gotten around to installing the 2.4.6 tarball I downloaded recently. Has it really been that long?
Tell that to the Borg.

Ha, you've captured the essence of how crazy this is.

Then again, 30-mile commutes are rediculous.

Might have just lost Florida for Gore...Have we seen an example of this yet?
I just can't deal with the fact that I have to hear more soundbites of Hillary Clinton on NPR for another 6 years...sigh. Lazio must be a complete idiot.
I voted for John Jackson!
Because the plastic sights break off! :)
Does that mean that Rabin's probabilistic primality test has kill crypto already? ;)
