i'm satisfied with 32 bit floating point for number crunching. do we really need 64 bit for most of our calculations. it's just engineering throw a safety factor of 4 on it and call it a day.
Also remember qualified applicates have no problems finding high paying internships; the people who have unpaid internships want them! If they didn't they wouldn't accept the position.
let's not forget the time you're wasting with a mentor, every time you ask a question you waste a productive person's time on the project. So instead of hiring an employee with an intern you actually lose half an employee while paying the same. So it's not $7.50 an hour if you count the time you're wasting of other employees it's most likely much higher. a small company doesn't have the overhead to take on that kind of liability.
And we'll just ignore all of the events where revenue increased when tax rates decreased. People tend to forget that people are greedy, and as such will find loopholes when it is profitable i.e. high tax rates, but when rates are low it's not worth spending the time and money to evade and exploit loopholes and will pay the same if not more (because of lower overhead) without a problem. Lowering the tax rate in a time of recession is always the right move. Also, the government could stand to not spend money like a drunk college girl with daddy's credit card.

I'd say you've proven the point of this article, your religious beliefs prevent you from accepting alternate arguments based more on your beliefs than actual facts.

really I believe there is no way to be completely impartial towards an idea, but if we at least try to view both sides of the argument as fairly as we can, we can at least come to a better and firmer grasp of why we have beliefs in the first place, or hopefully admit our failures and change our beliefs.
Ironically they're most likely going to waste more paper and "destroy" the environment by denying obvious progress. The better question is: is someone at 3M just messing with the city to show Berkley how much more they need them than 3M needs Berkley, and get the law repealed.
The best thing about insurance is you don't have to get it. If you feel you'd save money by investing in an HSA, or just plain paying bills as you go, you have the right to do that. Likewise insurance companies will compete with each other to keep rates low. If you don't like one carrier move to another who can give you a better coverage.

the only time this fails is when an outside source, (enter government) comes in and imposed regulations and standards that the insurance company has to abide by. suddenly your primium won't go down, because you have to have drug rehab insurance and pregnancy insurance, just ignore the fact that you're a male who is smart enough not to do smack. or worse yet if the government forces you to have insurance. that's when you'll see the prices skyrocket, and the coverage and quality shrink. because when demand is forced supply can do whatever it wants to control the price.
I agree phone calls are often less informative than a good email or text. As phone calls often are intrusive and interrupt a person train of thought to discuss your topic, and an email or text can be a thought out response. If I don't have the time to call a person or create a conference of course I send out a email which has all the appropriate people CCed. I don't think kids texting is any different than the memo sending of the last generations other than it's slightly faster.
and as far as kids not socializing, I would blame the raised cost of living. Video games are cheap and take up lots of time, but going to the malt shop to hang out costs $5-$10. If people have so many issues with kids not going out side to socialize they should throw some money into outdoor activies... but frankly thanks to teamspeak I think kids can socialize very well on line without ever meeting a person face to face. not to mention the options to meet people from other cites, states, or countries.
