I've recently got X to work on a TV at a resolution of 640x480 using a vesa framebuffer and an ATI ALL IN WONDER PRO. First compile a kernel that has support for a vesa framebuffer. After doing so, edit your lilo.conf and change the VGA line to read VGA=ask. Then run lilo to update the configuration. After the computer reboots, enter 0311 as the VGA resolution. Then just configure X to use a framebuffer device and you should be set.
It seems like these are the initial steps of global warming. Soon the ice caps in the north and south poles will melt and humans as a species will have to learn to adapt to an aquatic lifestyle because of what their actions have done.
Personally as a high school compsci student myself, I've done all of those theory based problems which have no practical use what so ever. I think it's time that schools and teachers start enriching the curriculum by asking students to create something that has some practical use. For example, have them create a graphing program, a program that interacts with a database of some sort or even a mail client. Heck, have them create something as simple as a phone directory...atleast it will have some use!
Well, linux does have it's share of bugs. Nobody ever said that it is unhackable but compared to NT, I would have to say that it is much more stable and reliable. One of the reasons why Linux has an increased number of bugs is because a lot of the software is opensource - meaning people can just go through the code and find a vulnerability in it. Opensourced code is also beneficial because any developer around the world can submit a patch or enhancement to the code. So what ever Fred Moody is talking about is true, but he has to look at the situation also of Linux!
Well, from a business sense, it wouldn't make sense if they had the boards but they weren't willing to manufacture and sell them. They received 100000 hits in a few days so there obviously was a target market for their SETI Accelerater.
Well, I don't get this...If the original domain owner purchased that domain name first, and is using it for a just cause (not hijacking a domain), he/she shouldn't have to give it up! It's stupid! Why should I have to give up a domain if I'm not hijacking it. Domains should be registered on a first come first serve basis, not a first come second sue basis.
Loggin connections is fine, but logging content is invasion of privacy isn't it? Once an ISP starts logging content that is passed through their system, it will be considered invasion of a person's personal privacy. As a citizen of a country, you have rights, and you are guaranteed these rights. Although these logs may not be used until an attack occurs, they are still invading a person's rights online. How would you like it if an ISP keeps track of everything you do. For example, Who you email and what you wrote and who you icq and your message. Even if they wanted to do this and were able to by law, wouldn't they waste a lot of disk space on their system? If you have thousands of packets going through your system, wouldn't logging all the information in each one fill up your hd?

With that piece of hardware, we're bound to find Alf! C'mon, crunching 6 units in 16 hours? Damn that's crazy!!!

I never knew Canada was that "high-tech"!!
Hmm, if they only made translucent face plates for those palms. They can then strike up a deal with Apple and sell them with their iMacs! :)
Yeah, the aurora's should be happening tonight in some parts of Canada but even more spectacular shows are supposed to occur tomorrow.
