Actually if you had RTFA, you would have realized that both Roundup and the GM corn caused cancer independently.
The headline suggests that GM corn causes cancer. This is ludicrous and only feeds the ignorant paranoid anti-GM crowd.
It's ROUNDUP exposure that's linked to tumors - NOT genetic modifications. I am not at all surprised.
I've been saying for years that there is nothing particularly risky about GM foods - it's dumping horrendous of herbicide on things that's risky... this is obvious to me, but not to the ignorant masses.
I've read (on the Sigma Designs site) that there is a digital set-top box reference design based on Linux and the Intel Celeron processor. You can check the full press release here.
I can only hope that the drivers created for this device would be released to the public in at least binary form. Unfortunately, I doubt that the greedy company (Sigma Designs) will be so generous. I'm sure they view this as a proprietary trade secret which could generate serious revenue for their company.
Selling is a fuzzy art at best. Some things are easier to sell based upon actual cost of parts, labor, and a percentage for profit. A website of course would be much more difficult to appraise.
I would look to revenue generated, actual investment of time and money, and potential future income when calculating a price. Of course, the final price is usually dictated by how badly the potential owner wants the site.
Don't forget to factor user base into the equation.
This does sound interesting, but I have a few concerns that I don't believe the article addresses.
First, how much reasearch is going to go into testing the actual storage life of adhesive tape? Will the optical characteristics of the tape remain consistent over time?
Second, are they actually going to use common tape that you can purchase retail for the device, or will they develop a proprietary roll of tape (which will undoubtably cost considerably more)?
What will be the potential data throughput rate for a device such as this?

Don't give the freaks ammunition, please.
Of course it matters if you purchased one of those infernal creations!
