    Freud was a Cocaine addict who prescribed people Cocaine to make them more "Normal".
    Ritalin is an addictive substance similar to Cocaine prescribed by Psychologists to make people more "Normal".
    I respect the Neurologists who help my mother who has brain damage from falling out of a moving vehicle and who actually do try to make her more normal and fit into society in some fashion.
    I have no respect for the others who's goal is to make a bunch of drug addicted users to fund their junk science.

    If even 1 of the thousand gets completely compromised and doesn't tell anyone you're in the same boat as having only a few organizations. The difference is the number of opportunities for it to occur. A better option would be to get rid of the system entirely but coming up with a viable replacement seems to be still in the air.

    The engine needed to convert the Heat to electricity. The time to pay for itself if it costs you too much could put it in the category of putting solar cells on your house. Nice but too costly for most people even if they could pay for themselves. A 1 MW plant could power several homes or a small factory and might cost the same as a 10KW plant, but would pay for itself faster.

    All modern IDE's have auto format of tabs. I don't have the time to re-indent all my lines when I add a logical block like ohh this should be in an if block to avoid this one off case that's been crashing my app.

    Indentation is a good habit even if it's not necessary in a language's syntax.

    Too much work I'm lazy. Right click auto format puts in all the appropriate indents.

    Are they telling me that Quorum is better then a randomly generated language at teaching and that Perl makes bad programmers? This sounds more like someone setting up a study and trying to rig it so that their horse (quorum) gets taught in the class room. Personally I stick Perl in the same bucket as VB and most scripts. They may have their uses but new programmers need to be beaten with languages like C and C++ first. Otherwise they learn bad habits. Perl only starts getting good when you use strict so that it has been given permission to beat the programmer for any little mistake.

    How is this that contemptible? It's not immoral, unethical, or even evil. It's a painter saying no I like my painting with purple grass, and I don't care that you want green grass in my painting because it's my painting. If you want green grass go to that Van Gogh guy. This isn't really a "bug" ether. It's an aesthetics request. It is behaving exactly as the designer wanted it to.

    I think you're right, but I've received creepy email invites from Facebook saying "You might know these people come join us" followed by 9 profile images some of close friends and some of acquaintances that happened to attend an event that I've gone to from time to time. It was creepy and is the main reason I want nothing to do with facebook.

    Because Nintendo has always had lousy 3rd party games and MS abandoned Japan after they realized they were never going to court enough Japanese 3rd party developers to make it worth it. That leaves me with still wanting NIS games and they only come out on Sony's equipment. If MS gets NIS games or Nintendo gets more then just ports of old NIS games then maybe I'll consider a bon fire for my PS3and2... Maybe

    If Console game developers can put in the added effort to make a product that is reasonably bug free, or is otherwise unplayable, back before consoles could update the software then I'm sure MS can debug Office a little bit better before shipping.

    They will be collecting new data with an upgraded MINOS experiment.

    Just looking at the old data will prove nothing from the old MINOS experiment because it suggests that CERN did it right with the OPERA experiment. The problem before is the margin of error on the MINOS test is far too high causing the measured speed to be faster then the speed of light with a margin of error overlapping the speed of light. They need to do a slight upgrade and redo the tests to get the Margin of Error down.

    I would assume that it's grounds for discharge.

    In 1998 in the US the answer is No. HIV is not grounds to be discharged. Heck, in the 90's you'd probably have even made it though enlistment and be HIV positive. They did make sure that they were in non critical jobs. The med requirment to keep it in check basically means you cant put them on front line duty. The GOP had a big argument about it in the 90's about trying to force the military to discharge them. I don't know what ultimatly became of that or if their rules currently apply. You're free to shuffle though the manuals to find out if you'd like to now definitively. Though whether or not our soldiers are clean is irrelevant if it's not the case of all soldiers since I doubt we do exclusive killing of our own men.

    Actually even though you only get Chicken Pox once the virus can reinfect and then it's called Shingles. The Chicken Pox Vacinne does not stop the potential of reinfection resulting in Shingles.

    Naive, herpes hides in nerve cells between breakouts. I'm sure if you trained the immune system to hunt it down in those cells their would be other consequences. Your immune system deals with it just fine when it finds it, but killing nerve cells is usually bad. This is also why the 1st outbreak is usually the worst with Herpes since once you're body know what it is it can kill it before it causes too much damage, but depending on the version it still causes damage.

    I'd be learly of this until Phase II and Phase III are completed. Developing an Immune response is different then having a successful vaccine. The antibodies have to be ones that will help in eradicating the infection, and since HIV mutates so rapidly there is no grantee that it will work long term in world wide eradication.
