Yet so many "intelligent" people take science's guesses as fact. Someone "guessed" the world was flat, and everyone took it as fact. Now we do the same with evolution, age of galaxies, etc. I guess people just don't learn.
Luckily not all states are like that. SC requires a voter card or a driver's licence. But NC doesn't require anything. Of course voting in NC is sortof pointless anyway...they DON'T count any write-in votes.
This is insightful? These host files would be huge, and trading them across the internet would only add bandwidth usage and also many small servers might not have the space to handle such a big file.
Just a note that Stronghold v5 now uses mod_ssl. The only reason to buy it is if you want a nice installer and commercial support (which isn't that great by the way). We finally ended up ditching the $1000 stronghold and just installing mod_ssl because we couldn't get stronghold to work and couldn't get any decent support for it. And we had ditched Raven beforehand because of the same thing.
Well, mod_ssl works by being a module. You add the module and that's it. By giving apache a define (httpd -DSSL) it will enable the proper sections in httpd.conf and turn itself into a SSL server. You can run one copy or run seperate copies (one for normal and one for SSL)

Lots of rendering bugs, slow (very slow!), a very slow java implementation, problems with Javascripts...
Wait, how is this different than the currently shipping Communicator?
That would be the dolphins on Europa. Unfortunately since they only got fins and have a huge ice layer on top of them, their attempts to build rockets have failed.
I already own a Palm V but I've been wanting a color one - a metal one, not a cheap one that won't hold up (Palm III). The only way I *would* buy the Sony is if they made it color. Palm evidentially could care less about what people want...so its up to Sony and Handspring to do it.
The servers are using TruCluster, which is an add-on/associated product for Tru64 UNIX. All the systems share the same disk and config, with only a few things having to be done on each server. They also use a memory channel hub to talk to each other.
Although thinking about it I guess people could overdose on caffeine pills, but then that's their own fault. I don't think the general populace should ever have to worry about this by drinking soft drinks, coffee, or tea (or my favorite - chocolate).

Um, it would take 83 cans of Mountain Dew in a 6 hour period for someone to overdose. I'm sure that doesn't happen very often. How exactly does this article have anything to do with responsible drug use?
Not to mention that a Palm III (and all it's bastard cousins like IIIv IIIc etc) are not very durable. The design is quite bulky and quite lame. The original Palms often had their screens cracked in half. Palm didn't do a whole lot better with the Palm III. I wished they would stick with the metal V design. If they released a Palm V Color, I'd buy it in a second. But they don't listen to consumers...I already wrote them like 3 times and they didn't even bother to reply.
>Actually, NSI doesn't get to set TLD policy. Can >you cite an RFC to such a beast?
I don't think such a RFC exists, though Network Solutions set the policy theirselves for a long while before they threw it out the door and said "own.com? why not get.org and.net to go with it!"
So they don't have the right to love, to kindness, to entertainment? So I guess when they get home from school, you'd lock them in a bare room? I'd hate to be your child, as it sounds like you'd steal my childhood away.
You're kidding right? I played all kinds of games in the 80's and don't have any violent inclinations. When I finish watching some action movie, I have NO urge to go out and kill someone. In fact, extreme stuff makes me feel sick (Event Horizon comes to mind). I am tired of seeing video games (and the media in general) blamed when the real problem is elsewhere...whether it be a broken home, poverty, or the old-fashioned "mentally disturbed".
I dont see how this would be useful. Currently, I tell it what I want to do by using my mouse. Now it is going to stare at my face or something and guess what I want? Unless it can read my mind, I'd rather not have it do anything, as it is just going to get in the way. Windows is so helpful to interrupt anything you are doing by an event...so in other words, if I type in a site in IE then go check my email, IE is so nice to throw itself up front when the site is loaded and interupt the email message I was writing. This is how microsoft thinks. Such as if I start typing a letter in Word and the paperclip interupts my typing asking me if I want help.

Hmm don't you think the world would hate us since Gore would continue Clinton's policy of being world police?
That won't work...most ISPs (at least big ones anyway) completely ignore their postmaster@ address

Fear not about atmospheric extinction. Bill Joy's killer robots will wipe us out long before then.
And winners of the Olympics...

If you look under "Highly Available Applications", it talks about programming for it.

I just want to give notice that I intend to file a patent for all man-made objects in the form of a "sphere". I'm watching you Cobalt...make my day.
And remember, since ICQ never purges their user database, there are probably 40 million users who don't use it anymore.

Try placing a Palm III and a Palm V on the floor and stomp on them. Let's see which one wins. I'm thinking the Palm V.

Why? You want cat, you do:
open(FILE,"somefile.txt");
while()
{
print $_;
}
close(FILE);
You want ls, you can do:
opendir(DIR,"somedir");
while($filename=readdir(DIR))
{
print "$filename\n";
}
closedir(DIR);
For *most* unix commands, it's simple to do it in your perl script with just a few lines.
