    Too bad the Consortium never implemented an effective solution for most of 'em. I think that's the reason Canonical decided to use Unity.

    That makes no sense. Unity runs atop X11.

    Because Nintendo sells more per model of handheld than any single phone model? For example they sold 150 million DSes, 93 million DS lites, and 27 million DSis. They aren't hurting for hardware sales.

    The Gnome 3 developers are against ripoff 'freemium' games that gouge you with microtransactions or plodding game pace if you don't buy their virtual junk with money? And 'social' games whose whole existence is for spamming people with annoying 'My cow farted in Farmville' messages? Maybe they're smarter than I thought..

    Because the same things that increase the lifespan of the "average dolt" benefits everyone?

    My own physical and mental capabilities are superior to that of the average dolt, and when I notice someone that seems like they're going to blow through a stop sign, I ease up.

    In The Descent of Man Darwin noted that aiding the weak to survive and have families could lose the benefits of natural selection, but cautioned that withholding such aid would endanger the instinct of sympathy, "the noblest part of our nature", and factors such as education could be more important.

    So basically he thought that doing what you said would actually be detrimental. Maybe you should actually dig a little deeper beyond what someone told you Darwin believed.

    Because Imagination Technologies gives open source drivers for PowerFR? Because ARM is giving out open source drivers for Mali? Sure it's nVidia but it's not like the other ARM GPU makers are rushing to release open source drivers.

    What modern ARM SoC actually comes with open source GPU drivers that fully utilize it and aren't a third party work in progress? None that I've seen.

    To me, that lack of power is a VERY good thing because it means the developers will be forced to make their games fun rather than pretty.

    Or just like with most third party Wii titles, they'll be both ugly and unfun.

    Akamai is one of the largest, if not the largest, CDNs in the world. Their figures are from serving a large fraction of the content on the web and from their extensive network monitoring. It is not 'pulled from the air'. Speedtest.net, on the other hand, is a biased sampling of people who are choosing to use the service. Akamai's data has no such bias.

    How is it 'obscure'? It's widely used in large and small commercial companies worldwide. It might be obscure for an average user but they don't really care about such details.

    And how will they 'shut it down'? It's used by hundreds of commercial companies so Digia would only ge costing themselves revenue. Also it will fall under a BSD license if no releases are made for a certain period. Lastly, Microsoft itself has been a Qt licensee for some time now. Long before any relationship with Nokia happened. But don't let facts get in the way of your conspiracy.

    Uh huh. Except that many of their commercial licenses are contingent on Linux and Unix support hence why Digia continued to suppirt Linux and Unix platforms that Nokia officially dropped support for.

    Embarcado bought CodeGear not Borland. CodeGear being the spunoff company from Borland to handle Delphi/C++ Builder, etc. Borland was bought by Micro Focus.

    They've been around for more than 15 years so take that for what you will. There is no guarantees that any company won't go under but they seem solid enough.
