    There is no way in hell any other game developer would license the Rage engine.

    They wouldn't be able to anyway. It's already been stated that id Tech 5 will not be licensed to 3rd parties.

    Bethesda will be using it. They make some games like Elder Scrolls and a little thing called Fallout.

    Okay, and how does that contradict anything? Bethesda isn't a 3rd party company and isn't licensing the engine. Bethesda and id are both studios under the same parent company.

    No. Gone are the days were you have to make sure you have a Sound Blaster 16 vs some other card because the game was only written to that specific sound card. Games usually give what generation versions of a video card you would need if running on various manufacturers but with probably almost no exceptions are games written to a specific manufacturer's audio or sound card.

    No, being a monopoly is not illegal. But if you are using your market dominance as a way to push out competitors in other areas it can become illegal. Or do we just pretend that everyone on here wasn't complaining about similar tactics of Microsoft using their dominance in OSes to push IE?

    Yes, only for idiots who don't realize what the "rare" actually means. It means "rarefied" which means it is more widely dispersed than a rich deposit which is more heavily concentrated. It does not mean there is not abundant quantities of it.

    Cisco employee with valid credentials let's Adekeye log on for a few minutes to get what he needs. IMHO, firing the employee for a violation of policy is about the extent of the redress here.

    And why should the guy who used those credentials to do something he had no authorization for go unpunished? Sure, what Cisco is doing is definitely over the top, but the guy had no permission to be downloading the software he did. Do you find it okay for people you ask to come over to take things from your house and leave?

    Who says they didn't punish that employee? Secondly, how does that change the fact that this guy did something he was not authorized to do? So if you give me a key to your house to bring in your mail I can steal your TV without any consequences since you gave me the key to the front door?

    Yeah, he's always so close to death. I heard in one episode that his room in the hotel had the air conditioner stuck at 76 degrees and the macadamia nuts can was empty. He practically starved and froze to death.

    The reason to water the ground around your foundation is to keep it from shrinking and expanding constantly as it gets wet and dries out which causes your foundation to rise and fall and eventually cause issues. This is why you water around that area to keep the soil in a more consistent state and it keeps your foundation in better shape too.

    The other two ratings agencies, Moodys and Fitch, have no plans to downgrade US debt.

    I wouldn't be so sure about that...:

    Moody's hasn't dropped the rating. They have, though, warned sternly that they will if things don't look better which is what that story is saying.

    Nitpick: Moody's doesn't have a "AAA" rating. There top rating is "Aaa".

    1. Promises not to sue
    2. Actions speak louder than words

    Public promises not to sue and explicit help to Mono development would lead to a clear case of Laches against Microsoft filing suit.

    Great. What does that have to do with Stanford which is not part of the Ivy League group of schools? It is lumped in to what is called "Ivy Plus" but that's not the same thing.
