$995 is cheap compared to some of the more prominent packages like Checkpoint's Firewall-1, NAI's Gauntlet or Raptor's Eagle. They can end up costing you around $15,000 just for the software alone!
Yes, but you would have a license for a product that most likely uses RSA's BSAFE dev kit. You would be running a binary that uses RSA's "RSAREF" encryption. They are not considered the same thing. You cannot license RSAREF from RSA. They won't sell it to you. I tried!
As far as the WinCE Palm-Size PCs go, the color models all have faster processors than their greyscale cousins. My Casio E-100 has a 131 MHz MIPS proc. My old Everex Freestyle had something like a 60MHz MIPS. The Casio is amazingly zippy. Linux boots much quicker on the Casio than the Everex!
I had the same problem and I think I have it solved. I have a little Linux box at home that runs IPChains and so forth. I set it up to use fetchmail to collect mail from different accounts, then I use an IMAP client on my workstation to read the messages. On Linux I use Netscape, on Windows NT I use Outlook 2000. Seems to work pretty well and I don't have to worry about losing mail messages if I decide to re-install NT!
Actually, the Casio E-105 has 32MB of RAM. As far as video, you seem to be stuck on the idea that the only use for video is feature length movies. I would like to carry around little video clips of my kids, etc. And when I get my Casio (soon hopefully) I will!
I was having severe wrist cramps from using a mouse. I switched to a nice big trackball (Kensington Expert Mouse) and I don't get the cramps in my wrist anymore. Just my experience.
Since when is domain name == website? What if you want a domain for email, or whatever. Remember, the Web is not another name for Internet! Too many people interchange those two words.
Doesn't a company have the right to choose which operating systems it releases drivers for? 3Com just added one more OS. If they choose not to support BSD by choosing the GPL, well, that's their choice to make.
Oh come on! Is a newbie going to patch the kernel for a network card driver that already works? Especially since his "friend" upgraded the kernel for him? That is just plain dumb!
I don't think most places have all the staff they need right now. So, maybe Linux will not get rid of jobs, just make life a little less hectic for all the overworked sysadmins out there.
Anonymous Cowards just don't know humor when they read it, do they?

You don't have to go to Service Pack 5 to be Y2K compliant on NT. There are a couple of Post SP4 Hotfixes that will get you there. I agree, SP5 does seem to have a few "issues";)
That would be great if these were writable like CD-R, but they aren't. They must be pressed, according to the article. They aren't read/written by laser, so you can't "burn" them.
They could have at least used SQL Server instead of Access!

Unfortunately, it is not running Windows 95, but Linux and Apache 1.3.4. Not sure of what processor. The details are from Netcraft.
Another very easy way to do this is to use redir. Search for it on freshmeat. It works great, whether you are inside or outside your network.
He was refering to the mis-capitalized, mis-spelled : mWH (milla watt hours)

The default theme in 0.16 is no longer that real dark one that are talking about. It is a nice looking metalic blue/green theme.

Is the purpose of a license to innovate? We are way off on a tangent here. This is worse than discussing politics or religion!

It is recommended that you go to the dentist every 6 months for a cleaning.
Well, it is safe to read, because it is just a reprint of a letter Ken Wiliams wrote.
XF86Setup is part of XFree86, not part of FreeBSD. I use it on Linux all the time.

Maybe, but people hauled around LP records for quite a while...
Yep, from a "whois countdown9199,com":
Domain servers in listed order:
NS1E.AMWAY.COM 208.10.113.2
NS4.CW.NET 204.70.49.234
Right, they are just switching the ordering method from phone to web. Why can't Pizza Hut or Domino's do this???
