Does not the GSM spec say that 112 is the emergency number. (the carrier HAS to fwd/make that number call the local emergency line 911 US, 999 UK, 000 here in AU). My nokia will even attempt to call the number if you press 112 regardless if it has keypad lock turned on. Try it, you may be surprised. (Ensure that a call goes not go through tho, you dont want to waste emergency services time!)
Heh, I replace my mac about every 6 years. IIci->iMac(rev. b)->PB G4 They have great resale value. My iMac could even double as a medium-end server, what with SCSI-3, a 533 mHz processor, and 512 MB of ram. It even has 10/100 ethernet! And the best part is it all cost me about $1800(including the cost of the iMac) to make an old iMac a server!
The iMac rev. b was not available in 533Mhz. Infact the fasted rev b was 233Mhz. Not to mention no iMac ever ran at 533.

A bold statement i know, but if you go to the apple store you can see that they have a "Server" section, which is basically a PowerMac with OS X Server. How hard would it be for apple to add a tick box for rack mount kit, perhaps even allow downgrading to OS X as the OS.
Personally I think that apple SHOULD change the look of the systems that they are trying to sell as servers, have a look at the Sun E250 or E450, they are not butt ugly, but rather well engineered cases (and not too bad machines, albeit old now). If apple took an approach like that, simply making a machine they sell to be a server look like one, and havit it available as rackmount, they would have it made.

Linux could indeed take BSD source, and all that they would need do is include the Copyright notices and it would not matter what they took, Linux developers could even take the direct tree and just rename it Linux no worries, as the BSD licence allows this.
It does not work the other way though (unless Linux developers gave permission to BSD developers to use their code that they wrote as an individual. Oh well.
NOTE: I do not have a preference for licencing. BSD or GPL its all good for and to me.!

If for example Mono actually reach the v1.0 API spec of the.NET it would allow people to develop one source, and simply release 2x binaries (or even just plain old bytecodeness). I've noticed that everyday my memory slowly creeps away. First I had 100MB free RAM and now it is down to 20MB after 14 days and still is going down. Could this be related to the van Riel VM? or perhaps the ext3 patch I'm using. Sorry if this is seems offtopic.
This sounds like it could be a memory leak. This happens when ever a program allocates memory and does not free that memory.

My point was that a Sun Ultra2 machine (Manuf. By Sun, branded an Ultra2 machine) can have a max of 2 processors. I see that you are refering to the UltraSparc-II processors.
The other point that i was making was that i found it very very difficult to believe that you could pick up a new Sun box with 4x UltraSparc-II's in it for less $1500. (The US-II CPU costs 10K-AUD+)
Ultra2 4x300mhz w/ 1 Gig of ram and 2x18 gig scsi drives. It only set us back about $1500. That is NOT MUCH in the world of shared website hosting
Ummm the Sun Ultra2 can take a Maximum of 2 Processors. So I would like to know what you think that you own. And if you mean something like an E450, then it would be costing you significantly more than that for the Chassis. Hell more that that per CPU.

The 64MB GeForce 2MX in the Dell is heavily, heavily compromised by the analog connection to the display. What the user actually sees will be faster on the iMac, with no ghosting or blur. I have both a digital and an analog flat panel here, and I can really, really see the difference when I go to the older machine with the analog connection. Why connect a digital graphics adapter to a digital display with an analog connection? Doesn't make sense today. Apple stopped doing this years ago.
Dont forget that the iMac has DDR memory on the Video Card. Something you can gaurantee that the Dell will not have. The memory on the MX's makes very very little difference to speed or quality of graphics output. And as you say, having it go out of an analouge output anyways.

Having just recently watch various parts of the Shrek DVD, with the Directors Comments as the audio track, there were many scenes where they decided that they needed to look more "cartoony" as they were aiming for a fairy tale look. They were not aiming for FF style scenes and backgrounds. Its actually an interesting watch:))

Be grateful how income tax works for ALL australians:
0-6800 Dollars of all income 0% TAX.
6800-17000 or (23000) 17% TAX.
23000-31000 (or so) 27% TAX (iirc)
31000-48000 (or so) 34% TAX.
48000->Any Number value 45% TAX.
(It is a table that looks something like this).
What this means in.AU is that it is never bad for your income to take a pay rise, as you will always be taxed at a lower rate for any monies earned for the sections with the lower rates. IE: Earning 6801 for example will not give you 6801 taxed at 17%, rather you will get 6800$ tax free, and will be taxed 17% on the 1$. If you were in.US the situation would not be as good for you, and you would be better off to not recieve that income untill a certain point where you would earn enough to make up for the lost tax,.

The 3-D demo was called Unreal. Note: It did not say the 3D FPS Unreal by epic (iirc). Think Final Reality, (i am sure most people who have had windows machines have used it at least once) that was a Demo. A look at this cool shit that i can do with ASM and some Crap/Good/Odd Hardware/API.
I wonder how much if at all a Hydrogen based enerygy system would alter the weather, think of all the cars, sure they are emitting 0 pollutants, (barring a bit of Ozone from the electric motors, possibly some lubricants too [less than IC engine i know]) but what effects to the weather could/would happen? Would cities become really really humid or would it all be A OK?
Also do these vehicles store the water, and plug into the power socket to charge? Or do you need to fill them up with water? Or just with H2 [02 comes from the air for the purpose of making h20]? Where do you get nice clean water from so that deposits dont build up in your tank?
